‘Give A Little’
If there’s one Maggie Rogers essential you need on your playlist, it’s this one. ‘Give A Little’ is the perfect definition of an indie-pop anthem, filled with beautiful harmonies and pop melodies. This track is the ideal mood setter when hanging out with friends on a perfect summer day. Fun fact: the music video for ‘Give A Little’ features Riverdale’s Camila Mendes, a close friend of Maggie’s.
The next song on our is from Maggie’s early days as a musician. ‘Dog Years’ demonstrates a mellow side of the indie artist and allows for her vocals to shine. The 2016 track is all about change, trusting yourself, and love—inspired by when she ditched class one day to eat pizza with a boy she loved.
One of the reasons we love Maggie Rogers here at THP is that she is not afraid to dip into different musical sounds. She infuses heavy bass lines into her signature sound in ‘The Knife.’ This Heard It In A Past Life track packs a punch with Maggie’s power vocals. The track is all about dancing all the problems away with some of your closest friends and just having each other’s back when things get tough.
‘Love You For A Long Time’
This sweet track is all about love and promising love for a long time—see what we did there? This 2019 track is filled with a simple yet beautiful acoustic guitar melody that immediately makes you think about love. Honestly, we could see this track be featured in a romantic comedy one day.
The last song on our list burst with bright energy. ‘Burning’ is all about feeling head over heels for someone and wanting to shout it at the top of your lungs to the world. The track is infectious and perfect to dance along to. You can feel the energy beyond the lyrics and instrumentals through her vocals as she belts, “I’m in love, I’m alive/ Oh, I’m burning.”
We absolutely cannot get enough of ‘Want Want,’ we are obsessed! July 29th needs to come sooner, so we can indulge in Maggie Rogers’ artistry.
