Binge-Worthy Buzz: Let Us Present You This Marvelous List

binge-worthy buzz

Hello, honeybees, and welcome back to another edition of Binge-Worthy Buzz, THP’s weekly series where we tell you all about the latest binge-worthy titles coming in the next few weeks.

Over the past few weeks, we’ve noticed something: Marvel has been busy lately, giving us lots of content both in the movie theater and on Disney+. With that in mind, we decided it was time for a new Marvel-focused Binge-Worthy Buzz. Avengers, assemble! And let’s talk about what the MCU has in store for us next.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness

Stephen Strange has been wowing us with his magic since his first appearance in 2016. And since he was a major part of Spider-Man: No Way Home, we’ve been craving more of his sarcastic nature and, frankly, his slightly arrogant demeanor that only Benedict Cumberbatch could make that charming. That’s why we were so hyped to see Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Well, that and the fact that Wanda is in it.

And starting June 22, we won’t even have to go to the theater to watch MoM anymore! On that date, the movie drops on Disney+, so we can all rewatch it as many times as we like and, if you’re like us, try to find hints of what’s to come throughout the scenes. And with the whole multiversal stuff going on in the movie, we’re sure we all missed a few things. Maybe watching it 30 more times will help.

Thor: Love and Thunder

Who’s ready for the God of Thunder’s fourth solo movie? We won’t lie, our expectations are fairly high for this one. No other Marvel hero so far has had more than three solo movies, so we’re excited to see what’s coming next on July 8, when the movie will hit theaters.

Since before the first trailer, we knew this movie would be a good one. It’s directed by Taika Waititi just like Ragnarok, and we’ve known for a while that Natalie Portman’s Dr. Jane Foster would also be returning. And of course, Chris Hemsworth is always delightful to watch as the Mighty Thor. And now, there are also the Guardians of the Galaxy joining the god. That being said, one thing we really, really, really want to see is a reunion between Thor and Loki. Like, come on, Marvel, haven’t these brothers suffered enough?

Ms. Marvel

Yes, we’re once again mentioning how hyped we are about Ms. Marvel. Can you blame us? Kamala Khan is, first and foremost, a fan of superheroes, just like us. Specifically, she loves Captain Marvel the most, and we can’t really blame her for it. The first episode just dropped on Disney+ and man, we love it just as much as we thought we would.

It’s so nice to see a teenage girl from Jersey City actually act and look like a teenage girl from Jersey City. And it’s also interesting to see what happens when a completely normal girl who grew up under normal circumstances with a normal family gets superpowers like the heroes she’s looked up to her whole life. Like she said in the trailer, she’s always wanted powers but never thought this would happen. In short, we can’t wait to see what comes next for Kamala for the rest of this season.

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law

Another Disney+ show we can barely contain our excitement for is She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. Its main character is Jennifer Walters, a cousin of Bruce Banner who finds herself in the same situation as him: she turns into a bigger, greener version of herself whenever she’s scared or angry. That should be easy to navigate, right?

Jennifer is not only dealing with the stress of being She-Hulk, but she also happens to be an attorney, not at all stressful, we’re sure. Just like we’re sure being put into a division specialized in defending superpowered people will be quite easy (this was sarcasm, btw). We guess we’ll have to wait until August 17 to find out how she’ll navigate this whole situation.

I Am Groot Shorts

Wrapping up our list is our favorite little Guardian of the Galaxy, Groot! Specifically, Baby Groot. I Am Groot will be a series of five shorts starring Baby Groot, most likely following some of his moments before he turned into the teenage Groot we met the last time.

The series of shorts will be available on Disney+ on August 10 and will have Mr. Vin Diesel, who voiced the character in every MCU movie he’s been in so far, returning to voice the animated version of Groot as well. We’ll be here counting down the days.
