It’s our favorite time of the week again! New Music Weekly is here! And man, what a lineup we’ve got for you! We have singles, EPs, albums, you name it! Let’s jump into it!
Dylan Fraser – ‘It Took A Lot To Get To This’
Dylan Fraser has done something incredible with ‘It Took A Lot To Get To This.’ The track goes from feeling like what could be described as coffeehouse music, to doing a complete one-eighty and being a full-on alt-pop track. That seamless blending of sounds proves Dylan to be genreless, which is only adding more fuel to a fire we don’t see burning out anytime soon.

emlyn – loneliest bitch in america
We feel like we have been waiting on loneliest bitch in america for so long now, and it’s finally ours! We’ve been hearing ‘temporary funeral’ teased on TikTok for long enough to know it’s going down as one of our top songs released so far in 2022! Emlyn is giving us all the early Demi Lovato vibes (back in their Get Back days) with this album, and we are always here for that mix of pop-punk and radio pop!

Madison Cunningham – ‘Hospital’
Today on New Music Weekly, we’ve got the second single off of Madison Cunningham’s upcoming album, Revealer, ‘Hospital.’ Madison’s sound borders on the edge of both indie-folk and rock, which couldn’t be a better combination. We do not doubt that Revealer is going to be an album all of us want to listen to on September 9th!

Tessa Kaye – ‘Girl, I Want To Be Your Girlfriend’
Pride month is continuing to give us a+ tier music put out by queer musicians! Tessa Kaye recently came out (everyone send some love and congratulations!), so seeing such an honest expression of self in musical form couldn’t be more beautiful! Songs like ‘Girl, I Want To Be Your Girlfriend’ make people feel seen and heard, while also being absolute bops. What more could we ask for?

Justus Bennetts – ‘Girls’
‘Girls’ by Justus Bennetts feels plucked right from the pop-forward pop-punk scene we were getting in the 2010s, and we couldn’t be more on board! Anytime Justus Bennetts is on the roster, we know New Music Weekly is going to be a damn good time! We just can’t help but dance around our rooms, already learning all the words to ‘Girls’ because we can’t turn the track off!

The Greeting Committee – Dandelion (Deluxe)
Dandelion is easily one of our favorite albums that 2021 brought us, so getting a deluxe version almost a year later, has us elated! The Greeting Committee is such a special band, consistently bringing a sense of sun-soaked, even if the song isn’t overly upbeat. Truly, they are a made-for-summer band.
Our clear favorite deluxe track is ‘Kids.’ what an absolute jam.

Boy in Space – ‘A**hole’
It’s official, we have boarded the Boy In Space train, and we are never getting off! Boy In Space has such a distinct tone to his voice that we can only compare to the likes of Alec Benjamin. As soon as either of them starts singing, you know who it is.
‘A**hole’ has us beyond pumped for the EP which is due out September 16th!

Pale Waves – ‘Reasons To Live’
The second single off the upcoming Pale Waves album, Unwanted, has us feeling like we’re living in the early 2000s again! ‘Reasons To Live’ could have fit on so many soundtracks to movies that shaped our teen years, we are fully obsessed. So if you catch us with ‘Reasons To Live’ on a constant repeat, just let us live.

Joji – ‘Glimpse of Us’
Joji truly has such a special, beautiful voice. ‘Glimpse Of Us’ is such a soft track, with a large amount of emotion behind each lyric, which as the listener, only draws us in further. We could go for an entire project full of tracks with this level of vulnerability from Joji.

more* – ‘I Believe In You’
Back when we covered ‘Woman on the Move,’ it was clear we were fully obsessed with more*. ‘I Believe In You’ is continuing that streak! ‘I Believe In You’ feels like a summer night song, one you want to listen to while at a bonfire, or driving while chasing the sunset.

Kira Kosarin – ‘goodbye & thank u’
Kira Kosarin making her New Music Weekly debut? Yes, please! As we gear up for Kira’s upcoming EP, she’s been releasing singles like ‘goodbye & thank u,’ cementing her place in the pop music scene. Kira Kosarin will be a name you’ll be hearing for a very long time, right up there with the best of the pop girlies!

Big Time Rush – ‘Fall’
Our favorite part of any New Music Weekly is when we get to gush about our guys in Big Time Rush. Having this band back in the music scene fills our hearts with so much joy! When groups come back from a hiatus, there’s always a worry that the music won’t live up to previous releases. Big Time Rush has proved that right now is when they’re making the best music of their career. Just take one listen to ‘Fall,’ and you’ll know what we’re on about!
We can’t wait to hear ‘Fall’ on the road later this year!
