The Devil Is A Part-Timer! Season 2

You read that right! 😈 After almost a decade, we are finally getting a sequel to this hilarious anime. In the first season, we witnessed the Devil King Sadao persevere through an unforeseen obstacle–working a fast-food job in modern Tokyo. Seeing his antics while trying to adjust to his new surroundings while staying true to himself is fun in each episode. There are some pretty distinct changes in the art and style, but we are so excited to see the return of this Devil King!

Made In Abyss: The Golden City Of The Scorching Sun

Next is the adventure of Riko, Reg, and Nanachi in the sequel season of Made in Abyss. While the art is cute and features the kids set out on a trek, it gets deeper. And deeper. Into the layers of the abyss of the earth. This series is a rollercoaster with ups and downs, and we, as viewers, are also experiencing the ride. The characters are written well and leave us feeling every emotion possible. There are many noteworthy moments from earlier episodes, but we can’t wait to discover more this summer!

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners

Stepping back from the sequels, another anticipated summer anime is Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, which is in the same universe as the action role-playing video game Cyberpunk 2077. The anime follows a street kid who decides to become an edge runner, a mercenary outlaw. From what we’ve seen in the trailer, the art is stunning. For example, the cyberpunk theme and vivid animation bring the action to life, leaving viewers in awe. If this is what the trailer looks like, then we can’t wait for summer to come!

Classroom Of The Elite Season 2

Season 2 of COTE features more of the underdog story of Class-D and Kiyotaka Ayanokouji, known for lying low while executing brilliant plans to propel his class up the ranks. After the first season ended with a cliffhanger exposing some of Kiyotaka’s personality, we were left wanting more, and our wishes came true. In fact, not only was the second season of COTE announced for this summer, but Studio LERCHE also noted that a third season would be in the works. This is music to our ears, and we will be staying tuned for what happens next. 👀

Tokyo Mew Mew New~♡

Has anyone else here watched magical girl shows when they were younger (like Winx ClubPowerpuff Girls, or Sailor Moon)? If so, this anime will fill you with the nostalgic scenes we grew up admiring 😉. Tokyo Mew Mew follows the lives of girls armed with the DNA of endangered species. Through this, they become a squad of superheroes protecting the world while hiding their identities from everyone else. This remake covers all the marks of a classic magical girl show! From the distinct colors and personalities to their iconic transformation scenes, TMM is a reminder that we can admire the past in present-day society no matter how much time has passed.
