Nile Rodgers is a disco legend so we’re not surprised that he’s lent his talents to Roosevelt’s funky new single. Roosevelt is a 31-year-old German musician who got his start in indie bands and pop synth solos but is now leading the disco comeback. You may recognize his name from remixing some big names such as Glass Animals or Jax Jones but now he’s stepping into the light of his own disco ball and shining with this single.
His new single ‘Passion’ is a collaboration with funk and disco legend Nile Rodgers. We can’t think of any modern artists who have contributed more to the genre than Mr. Rodgers and it is a perfect collaboration. Nile Rodgers really brings his own distinct sound to everything he works on and it has blended incredibly well with Roosevelt’s style.
The Music Video Is Just As Funky
Speaking of style, the music video is just as full of style and soul as the song. Brought to life by Colombian group Mero, they’ve created a colorful celebration of life and art. Even in animation form, Roosevelt and Nile Rodgers just exude coolness. You can check out the video here:
Anything with a gospel choir, we are there for it. You just can’t beat the soulful, rich sound of a good gospel choir. They simply elevate the sound and the heart of the song and it works so beautifully here. We’re going to be having a boogie all night long with this one. Don’t wait up! We’ll be hoping to catch Roosevelt on his US tour this month, tickets are available here!
