Tis the season for summer festivals and we are living for it! Of course, everyone loves a good festival but there are always ways to get prepared before you grab your friends and walk through the gates that will welcome you to a world of music, fun, and food! This is our THP festival guide – a mini-hack list to get you through your festival experience.
“Hey, honey! Just so you know, there are some links in this article which we may earn money from if you make a purchase using them. It’s at no extra cost to you and helps us as an independent publication massively. Thanks for supporting The Honey POP!”
Hydrate
This is the most important tip we can give. You can’t enjoy anything if you’re feeling run down because of dehydration. So, stay hydrated in order to have the energy to party while your fave is crushing their set! Most festivals won’t let you bring outside food or drinks so that brings us to our next point.

Bring Cash
Yes, we know this is the 21st century and cards are how the majority of purchases are made but with festivals, it’s better to be over-prepared just in case. You don’t want to be stuck at a festival that only accepts cash with a dehydration headache. Again, most festivals will accept cards but there have been recent stories about cash-only festivals so we felt we should include this.

Battery And Storage
Bring a powerbank and throw an extra SD card into your phone to make sure you don’t run out of battery or storage space in the middle of your song. You’re going to want to take photos and videos with your friends too, so the more battery and storage space the better!

Sunscreen
A given. Getting sunburned sucks, so bring some sunscreen and reapply every two hours especially if you burn easily.

Dress Comfy
Dress cute but comfortably. Footwear should be practical and comfy enough for you to be on your feet all day. Blisters are a huge menace when you’re standing in a crowd of hundreds, even thousands, and can’t sit down without giving up a great view of the stage.
If you think your shoes are a bit boring, grab some fabric paint and add some color to match your outfit! Side note: don’t wear anything you wouldn’t want getting muddy and do not wear shoes fresh out of the box!

Timing Is Everything
If the artist you plan on seeing is a huge name get to their stage as early as possible if you want to get close. But be aware that being up front can be claustrophobic and there tends to be a lot of shoving.
It’s not the most comfortable spot but it’s a lot of people’s favorite for a reason. If you’re not worried about being in the front, feel free to check out other stages before heading over to the main stage.

Have Fun
We did say hydration was the most important tip we could give but this one is a tie. Festivals are a way to enjoy your favorite music with other people who love the same artists you do. Plan as much as you want but don’t forget to have fun!
