‘Summer Child’ is one of the heaviest songs on Superache, dealing with the topic of mental health, and what seems to be hinting at self-harm and abuse. So if those topics may trigger you possibly skip this track.
For us, we love when an artist can access such intense emotions, and turn them into a beautiful piece of art.
‘People Watching’
‘People Watching’ is a smash, we all know that. Even though we’ve had a lot of time to sit with this track, none of the magic has been lost, we can’t get over the level of pop perfection Conan Gray managed to reach here.
‘Yours’
Have you ever loved someone so much but known that the feeling is not mutual? That’s what Conan Gray is singing all about here on ‘Yours.’ It’s not an uncommon thread in Conan’s music to sing about unrequited love, he knows his audience and knows that we relate to the heartbreaking feeling he has also experienced.
‘Footnote’
Like we said above, Conan Gray loves a good unrequited love storyline, and he’s featured it heavily on some of our favorite tracks here on Superache. Being okay with just being a ‘Footnote’ in someone’s life, as long as you’re in it, is when you know you’ve got it bad. We may have (we did) hysterically cried to this song.
‘Best Friend’
We had to end this recap of our favorite Superache tracks with the song that might take the cake as number one, ‘Best Friend.’ ‘Best Friend’ is a celebration of a form of love we haven’t seen as heavily highlighted on the record thus far, making ‘Best Friend’ a clear standout.
