We don’t know about you, but since the release of ~How I’m Feeling~ in 2020, we at THP have been absolutely dying for even more Lauv music. So, as you can guess, we were extremely hyped when he announced his sophomore album All 4 Nothing, set to be released on August 5th. Since announcing the album, Lauv has released two singles, and this week he blessed us with a third, ‘Kids Are Born Stars.’
While he is perhaps best known for his hit single ‘I Like Me Better,’ Lauv has proven many times that he is one of the most diverse and talented artists currently on the charts. This is, of course, reaffirmed in this new release and we at THP hope it sees just as much success as some of his previous songs.
Combining his usual stellar production and lyricism, Lauv uses ‘Kids Are Born Stars’ both to connect with his inner child and to inspire confidence in his younger self. The music video mirrors this in its depiction of Lauv and his child-self creating music together in their bedroom. It’s an extremely wholesome and cute video, definitely, one you’re gonna wanna watch over and over again.
According to Lauv, themes such as nostalgia will run throughout the new album, as well as other themes such as conflict and self-empowerment. When discussing the upcoming album, Lauv states:
“When I started making this album, I was doing a lot of inner child meditation work and this song was me getting back in touch with my 8th grade self and giving him a little dose of confidence because Lord knows he would’ve needed it back then.”

As well as his album release, Lauv will also be embarking on a headline tour across North America. The All 4 Nothing Tour kicks off in Minneapolis on August 11th and Lauv will be joined across the states by Hayley Kiyoko. Honestly, we couldn’t put together a better pairing if we’d tried.
