Is there any time a Machine Gun Kelly performance doesn’t blow our minds? The answer to that is no, but he really took that to the next level with his latest slate of Vevo Official Live Performances. He performed some of our favorite tracks from mainstream sellout with such cool twists and unique sets that have been living in our minds rent-free since we first watched them. Of course, we wanted to share his talent with you, so let’s do a little run-down of each of these incredible videos!
Our team had a great time working on such an exciting creative with Machine Gun Kelly. His enthusiasm at every stage of production was truly infectious – it was a true pleasure to work with such an involved artist. MGK’s energy was next level and we are all really pleased with the finished videos.

‘god save me’
We’re gonna go in reverse chronological order so you can get the freshest new Kells content first! His latest Vevo performance comes with ‘god save me,’ and can we just say, he crushed this one. It was weird at first to hear the verses without the backing vocal lines, but it also let the lyrics really sink in!
The people ominously standing around Colson added such an interesting energy to this video, and we’re wondering if it’s a metaphor for people who will listen to his music or read the headlines without really connecting with him, as if he’s simply a product instead of a human being to empathize with.
‘fake love don’t last’
We’ve had mainstream sellout for a while, but we’re still not over the high-energy ‘fake love don’t last,’ a collab with iann dior that calls out a toxic partner as the boys move forward with their lives. We got wayyyyy too excited when we heard iann’s “ay” and “like that” ad libs before he popped up onscreen, not gonna lie. This is definitely one of our favorite MGK performances to date – he, iann, and his band killed it!
Whenever we get to hear ‘twin flame’ live, we’re amazed by Colson’s vulnerability and the fact that his vocals have gotten to this level over the past few years. The Vevo version shows off his musical talent while also giving us something to think about – he’s lying in a glass box during most of the performance, which reminds us of the imagery on 2019’s ‘Glass House’ and makes us wonder if it’s a commentary on fame and how struggling celebs are often misunderstood, like ‘Glass House’ is.
‘more than life’
Finally, we get to the last… er, first performance of the series with ‘more than life,’ featuring glaive! This version of the song tore apart our hearts in the best ways possible, really honing in on the emotions in the song. The glitzy green background just makes it even more magical, and the guitar and bass hit even harder in this version. Catch us playing it on repeat at least a few times a day!
