Maisie Peters officially released her second single this month. The sister song to ‘Blonde,’ ‘Good Enough’ is a gorgeously sad, heartbreaking song and if you didn’t cry listening to it, we are concerned for you, are you okay?
This song is the definition of emotional damage. It’s about a romantic relationship, but we also interpreted it as any time you tried your best but still felt you weren’t good enough. Thinking everything was perfect and then the realization hits you. That’s what this song is, it’s a pain.
The lyricism in ‘Good Enough’ is poetic. There’s no other way to describe it. Maisie Peters, you are a genius. This song is so vulnerable and delicate in a way and we feel every word you sang.
Thought I was the way home, but I was an obstacle to move, I never said I was perfect, like you”
‘Good Enough’ Maisie Perters
Like, excuse us, Miss Maisie this was uncalled for.
‘Blonde’ And ‘Good Enough’
Releasing ‘Blonde’ and ‘Good Enough’ together makes so much sense. When we heard ‘Blonde,’ we heard it as revenge song, or a “look at how far I’ve come” kind of song. Hearing it after ‘Good Enough,’ it suddenly becomes Maisie saying she’s not good enough and changing her appearance. It makes so much sense and it hurts so bad. But on another note, the revenge aspect just becomes so much more powerful and we love it. These songs are sisters and we love Maisie Peters’ brain for doing this, but also; the below tweet…. yep, we feel that.
If MP2 is anything like this duo, we need it right now. Well- actually we need to mentally prepare, but you get what we mean.
