That’s right! The ‘Girl From Rio’ is back with another killer collab. This time, we’re talking about her latest release with Missy Elliott, ‘Lobby.’ The song, as well as many others, is part of the Deluxe version of the Brazilian superstar’s latest album, Versions of Me, which will come out on August 25.

If we didn’t already think Anitta was here to take over the whole world, Versions of Me just confirmed our suspicions. Just take the success of tracks like ‘Envolver’ and ‘Boys Don’t Cry’ as an example. Anitta was the first Brazilian to get to number one on the Billboard charts for a reason, that’s what we’re saying.

This has been a historic year for the ‘Girl From Rio’ for a number of reasons. She’s broken record after record, hitting milestone after milestone, and it doesn’t look like she’s going to stop any time soon. Not that we’d want that, either. In fact, we’ll take as much new music as the queen of Latin pop will give us.

In the video, we see Anitta and Missy switching scenes between a fancy hotel and a red square, but one thing that’s consistent in both environments is the iconic dance moves! Also, while we’re still on the topic of visual elements, we’d just like to point out this isn’t the first time we see the 50s and 60s aesthetic in Anitta’s music videos. The first time, and one of the most iconic videos of her career, to carry this element was ‘Girl From Rio’ and we felt the need to point that out.

Now, when it comes to the song itself, we hear a bit of everything, as it’s usually the case with Anitta’s music. There’s the obvious reggaeton and classic pop elements we love, but there’s also a bit of funk carioca mixed in there. A great little nod to her roots that help make her sound unique and powerful. That paired with Missy’s rap verses is *chef’s kiss*.

So, what do you think of ‘Lobby?’ Tell us your thoughts in the comments or come talk to us on FacebookInstagram, and Twitter! We’re really nice, we promise!
