Hannah Wicklund is one of the fastest rising artists in the rock music scene. She’s spent most of 2022 touring the world with the likes of Marcus King and Greta Van Fleet, and already has one full-length album to her name with another in the works. While we can’t wait to see where she goes next, Hannah is already clearly a rock powerhouse. We picked five tracks from her debut album Hannah Wicklund & The Steppin’ Stones that rock fans are sure to love.
‘Bomb Through The Breeze’
‘Bomb Through The Breeze’ gets you hooked on Hannah’s style from the very first second. With her grungy vocals and bluesy guitar riff, Hannah Wicklund & The Steppin’ Stones starts off loud and strong with this track. We might be a little jealous of those red heels she’s rocking in the song’s music video, too.
‘Looking Glass’ is a major change from our last pick, but it just goes to show how versatile Hannah Wicklund really is! A strong bass drum carries this track as she keeps on shredding on her guitar. ‘Looking Glass’ has the potential to become an iconic rock ballad in the next few years.
‘Ghost’ delivers some of Hannah’s most impressive vocals yet alongside an impressive guitar solo that we’ve got on repeat! Her range is definitely on display during this track. Feeling haunted by an ex? Let ‘Ghost’ be your next post-breakup anthem!
Our list can’t be complete without including ‘Strawberry Moon.’ This soulful song contains some of the best lyrics Hannah’s ever written, and it’s no wonder she decided to use it as the title for her latest tour this year. No rose-colored glasses are needed to enjoy ‘Strawberry Moon!’
Even from the title alone, it’s clear that ‘Mama Said’ is one of Hannah’s most bluesy tracks yet. Her rock influences are clear here, between both the lyrics and the backing tracks. Once you know it, it’s hard not to sing right along with her.
We’re beyond excited to see where Hannah Wicklund goes next, and we’d love to hear your thoughts! Know another song that we missed, or did we introduce you to some new rock? Comment below, or tweet us @TheHoneyPop!
