She’s back! The one and only- Rihanna has arrived with a new heartfelt song- after six years of no solo music. What better way to have a musical comeback than by being part of the soundtrack to one of the most highly anticipated Marvel film of the year, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. While we are crossing our fingers and patiently waiting for an album by Rihanna, we will be replaying ‘Lift Me Up’ until then.
She Has Us Humming In ‘Lift Me Up’
Right from the start, Rihanna has us on the floor! The vocals and instrumentals are a beautiful melody in our ears. The tune of the song reminds us of ‘California King Bed’ from her 2010 album Loud– very nostalgic. The lead single was written in collaboration with Tems (who is credited for the vocals), Ludwig Göransson, and Ryan Coogler. ‘Lift Me Up’ is truly a beautiful tribute to late Black Panther star Chadick Boseman. This track is the first song to the release from the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack, which is set to be released on November 4, with cover songs by Tem and hopefully a few Kendrick Lamar tracks.

An Emotional Music Video
The combination of Rihanna and a few scenes from the upcoming film left us in emotional turmoil. We see Rihanna at the beach reflecting and embracing the meaning of ‘Lift Me Up’ and snippets of devastated expressions and tearful moments in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. We may have shed tears throughout this emotional music video. You may want to grab a box of tissues for this one. We’ve run out of ours.
