Amazon Music has seriously been keeping us at THP well-fed with content from our favorite artists lately. From the live stream of Kendrick Lamar’s Paris show to the release of a Lil Baby live performance, we simply cannot get enough of everything Amazon Music has released lately. So, you can imagine how hyped we were to find out that Megan Thee Stallion would be the second artist to feature on their new Amazon Music Live series. Megan, of course, did not disappoint.
Megan took to the stage and performed some of her most iconic hits like ‘WAP’ and ‘Thot Sh*t,’ as well as a selection of songs from her recent Traumazine album. Released back in August, Traumazine is Megan’s sophomore album and explores themes such as female empowerment, dealing with grief, and overcoming trauma. From this album, Megan performed bangers such as ‘Her,’ ‘Pressurelicious,’ and ‘NDA.’ Megan also played songs like ‘Captain Hook’ and ‘What’s New’ from her older albums. This was seriously the setlist of our dreams and we will never get over amazing this live stream was.
Opening with ‘NDA’ and accompanied by her backing dancers, Megan dazzled both the live and online audiences with her incredible stage presence and excellent rapping capabilities. Despite being November, Megan truly made us feel like it was still ‘Hot Girl Summer’ and we simply adored it.
Amazon Music Live is hosted by rapper 2 Chainz and promises to showcase some incredible acts in the coming weeks. 2 Chainz will also be interviewing every artist that blesses the Amazon Music Live stage, hopefully giving fans an insight that we have never seen before. These live performances will air every Thursday, a night that Amazon describes as “the biggest night for entertainment.” They will also be available on demand with Prime Video for a limited time, meaning that you can re-live these epic live shows again and again. When describing the new series, Amazon’s global head of artist marketing stated:
“With Amazon Music Live, we’ve created a new, can’t-miss series for fans to experience the most exciting new music together. For artists, this show represents a massive new stage to share their music with fans after Thursday Night Football—the biggest game of the week, airing live on Prime Video.”
