When people think about Korean music, their mind usually goes to K-Pop. However, there are so many other genres outside of K-Pop for listeners to enjoy, such as K-R&B, K-HipHop, and K-Indie. Within these genres, there are so many talented Korean artists that go undiscovered or underappreciated. HEESU is one of these artists. HEESU is a South Korean artist living in NYC who makes Electropop, House, and Alternative R&B music. She is such a unique artist, and we are smitten with all of her songs. Each of her songs is exceptional in its own way, but ‘CHEONGSAN’ definitely has a special place in our hearts. HEESU recently released ‘CHEONGSAN,’ and it is such an incredible song that really stands out from the rest of her discography for several reasons. Vibe
‘CHEONGSAN’ is a song you should listen to when you want to wind down and relax. We really enjoy the calm vibes of HEESU’s new single, and it’s the perfect song to listen to before bed or at a cafe.
Instrumentals
The instrumentals in ‘CHEONGSAN’ are beautiful! We hope HEESU highlights more traditional Korean instruments in her music! The instrumentals she chose also cause ‘CHEONGSAN’ to have a relaxing melody which we truly enjoy.
Vocals
HEESU’s vocals are magical! We love her cadence and tone the most because they create a soothing melody. The runs and vibratos in ‘CHEONGSAN’ will honestly blow you away as well.
Lyrics
If you are someone who loves music about empowerment, then you will surely love ‘CHEONGSAN.’ Our favorite lyric is “accept your flaws and live a clear life.” It is such a good reminder to love yourself for who you are and to experience true freedom!
Music Video
According to HEESU, “‘CHEONGSAN’ is based on the poem Cheong San by poet Na Ong of the Goryeo Dynasty.” Therefore, the music video is going to showcase beautiful visuals of Korea, and it is going to be a 3D animated video also, which is exciting. So, stay tuned for the MV release coming soon!
