7 Holiday Albums You Need In Your Rotation This December

We all love a holiday single, but when your faves drop holiday albums? The excitement is unmatched. If you’re looking for something to get you in the festive mood this holiday season, look no further! We’ve compiled a list of all our go-to holiday albums for you to browse at your leisure. Happy listening!

Kacey Musgraves

We know it’s not the most traditional of the celebrity Christmas offerings, but we’re here to mix it up a little! In 2016, one of our fave country pop girls, queen Kacey Musgraves, gifted us A Very Kacey Christmas. The album is full to the brim of holiday classics such as ‘Let It Snow’ and ‘Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer.’ The album also features a collaboration with the iconic Willie Nelson, as well as Leon Bridges and The Quebe Sisters. Talk about star power!

If Kacey‘s first holiday album isn’t your thing, can we tempt you with a spin of The Kacey Musgraves Christmas Show? The soundtrack to her 2019 Amazon Prime show is somehow even more star-studded than the first album! With the likes of Lana Del Rey and Camila Cabello joining the songstress, among many other talents, the show feels like a hug from the holidays. Check out her performance of ‘Glittery’ with Troye Sivan for a taste of the album!

Michael Bublé

Is it a holiday playlist without an appearance from the man himself? Bublé is well and truly defrosted by this point and working his holiday magic. You know, we had to include his classic album on this list. Last year, Michael released the 10th Anniversary edition of his well-loved album, Christmas. It’s 25 tracks of sheer holiday joy with the smoothest of vocals. If you really want to get the vibe going, Michael Bublé released a cozy log fire playlist version of the original album to make sure you’re really feeling festive. Go on, you know you want to!

Ariana Grande

Ariana Grande is the gift that keeps on giving, and she has graced up with two Christmas EPs over the years, including the 2015 hit Christmas & Chill. Both albums are phenomenal, but her first Christmas record, Christmas Kisses, might just be our personal favorite. Sweet songs such as ‘love is everything’ and ‘Snow in California’ remind you of the importance of kindness, love, and gratitude. Love is everything. We also love a good choir, and Ms. Grande delivered.

Snoop Dogg’s Compilation Album

Time to mix it up a little! Want some hip-hop R’n’B holiday cheer? Snoop Dogg Presents Christmas in Tha Dogg House is the mixtape you need in your life this December. Released in 2008, the album features the likes of J.Black, Damani Nkosi, and of course, Snoop himself. And if you can’t get enough of Snoop‘s Christmas offerings, he also appears on the Pitch Perfect 2 soundtrack with a ‘Winter Wonderland/Here Comes Santa Claus’ remix. Even More? We’ll admit this one is a little silly, but it’s one of our favorite-ever ad campaigns, and ‘Doggy Dog Christmas’ has been stuck in our heads since its debut.

Snoop Dogg really is just the coolest. Who can make a rap about festive food this fun and replayable? Snoop did that. And now we’re hungry… brb.

Toni Braxton

We think Toni Braxton’s 2001 album Snowflakes is a hidden gem that deserves a place on your Christmas rotations. Highlights we recommend include ‘Christmas in Jamaica’ featuring Shaggy, ‘Christmas Time Is Here,’ and ‘Snowflakes of Love.’ We could play this over and over and over!

Beach Boys

The Beach Boy’s Christmas Album is an absolute holiday classic, and it’s criminal if you don’t give it a spin at least once a year. Okay, maybe it’s not illegal, but there’s a chance you might not make the nice list if this classic isn’t included in your holiday rotation. Some of our faves include ‘Little Saint Nick,’ ‘Merry Christmas Baby,’ and their fun-filled ‘Santa’s Beard!’

Elvis Presley

We felt it was only right to finish off this list with a bit of Elvis. At THP HQ, it’s not Christmas until someone has given Elvis’ Christmas Album an outing. Elvis Presley puts his magic touch onto every song on this record and, of course, gave us the classic ‘Blue Christmas.’ Our love for this man’s music will never die. We might even have to add the new Elvis film to our holiday watchlist!

From our THP family to yours, we hope you’re all having a safe and happy holiday season. Thanks for spending a little of it here with us! Hopefully, these albums will be the soundtrack to your holiday season; let us know if you give any of them a spin!
