If you haven’t heard the name Sienna Spiro, you’ll want to get to know her ASAP. Straight from London, England, we’ve found our new favorite singer, with vocals that send us into another dimension. Sienna played her first-ever show in LA, and we weren’t going to miss it.
Saying she has vocals that sent us into another dimension is not just a silly, goofy phrase; it’s literally the truth. She opened the show with ‘BUTTERFLY EFFECT‘ and we couldn’t have asked for a better song selection. The room was silent, but not because we didn’t like her song, it was more because she shook us into silence with her voice.
As if she couldn’t get any better, we looooooove when an artist has a song that we can absolutely relate to. And with her song ‘ORIGAMI,’ she became one of the most relatable people on the planet. She spoke about the meaning of this song, crediting the effects of a parasocial relationship. “Raise your hand if you’ve ever been in a parasocial relationship that absolutely crushes you.“
And if we want to continue talking about soul-crushing and heartbreaking songs, she sang ‘TAXI DRIVER,’ which explores the feelings she had when she found out her ex cheated on her with her best friend. Even if you’ve never experienced a situation so intense, listening to this song (and even more so experiencing it live) will make you feel like it was happening to you, which we think only adds to the value of how good a song is written and brought to life.
Amongst more of her songs from her debut EP Sink Now, Swim Later, Sienna also sang a cover of Nina Simone’s ‘Feeling Good,’ and it sent shivers down our whole bodies. We cannot stress enough that Sienna Spiro has VOCALLLLSSSSSS.
Last, but certainly not least, our ears were blessed with an unreleased song called ‘Dream Police’ that we are begging Sienna to release. It had a funky beat, while also continuing to showcase her powerhouse vocals.
