When FINNEAS puts pen to paper, there’s no stopping him. We have to admit that he’s one of our favorite songwriters right now, and we always come back to his lyrics when we need a little inspiration. To celebrate our love for FINNEAS’s solo music, we’re rewinding on our five favorite lyrics from his best songs to date.

This lyric from our favorite FINNEAS song, ‘Only A Lifetime,’ gets us so emotional every time we hear it. In this song, FINNEAS is reminding us about the true meaning of life – spending time with friends and loved ones. We have an entire lifetime to spend with the ones we love, but before we know it, that lifetime will be over, so don’t waste it.
“They say you’re problematic and you’d better take it back. There’s nothing you can do that people won’t misunderstand. They won’t feel any better ’til you feel bad.”
‘The Kids Are All Dying’ is one of those iconic FINNEAS songs that never gets old. As fans, we love how this song has taken on a life of its own throughout the fandom. Screaming these lyrics at the top of our lungs during live shows is a core memory!
“A part of me is part of you. Just a different shade of blue.”
Ok, so we’re crying now. ‘Family Feud’ hits different and has so many beautiful lyrical moments. When we hear these lyrics, we think about the people we love – our siblings, our friends, our parents. We’re all the same, just different shades of blue.
“If you get political, they’ll make you a criminal. It’s all a bit biblical.”
The lyrics in ‘Medieval’ might just be some of FINNEAS’s best. This song stands out in his discography for its meaning, lyrics, and stunning production.
“I was such an optimist. You’re a f***in’ narcissist.”
Shoutout to our favorite song on For Cryin’ Out Loud! ‘Starf***ker’ truly never gets old and is one of our favorite live moments from FINNEAS’s tour. It opens his most recent album and sets the tone for the songs to come – banger after banger! We also love this lyric because it’s a subtle nod to Finneas’s album, Optimist.
