PinkPantheress grabbed Zara Larsson for a remix of ‘Stateside,’ one of Pink’s popular songs from her recent album, Fancy That. Yes, we do fancy that. If you’re wondering why this song is all of a sudden so popular on TikTok (and honestly everywhere else) right now, we’re going to break it down for you, all the way from London to Sweden.
A Masterclass In Branding
What Pink and Zara’s collaboration proves is that these two pop princesses know how to brand themselves. Even if you’re not a big fan of either PinkPantheress or Zara Larsson (we can’t relate), you’d still be able to identify them and their fans from a mile away. Why? Their brands are unique and highly identifiable.
PinkPantheress embodies being British—wearing red, white, and black plaid with a mini purse on her shoulder. On the other hand, Zara Larsson leans towards a Swedish summertime. Bright pinks, yellows, and blues splattered with sparkles, bright eye makeup (shout-out to her makeup artist, Sophia Sinot), and of course, a bit of a Lisa Frank-inspired palette. The two brands might seem polar opposites, but Pink and Zara proved any skeptics wrong in the ‘Stateside + Zara Larsson’ music video.
