Tones And I Share Two New Singles That Make Us Feel Like Reckless Teenagers

Happy Spring 🌺 to us because Tones and I have just sprung two new songs on us! ‘Dreaming’ dropped last month, but we are lucky enough to receive its acoustic version today. In fact, we are double lucky because we also get a brand new single, ‘I Get High.’ If there wasn’t enough to love about Tones and I, the gift just keeps on giving! Both these songs present polar themes and sounds but fit together perfectly in Tones and I’s discography. We can’t decide which one is our favorite, so you’ll just have to help us by listening to them too! 👇

We absolutely adore this cover art! It captures the tone of the song and the vibes of Tones and I perfectly. We tend to hit play on this song whenever we are driving down the freeway at night…and a little too fast. It’s giving Charli XCX vibes and we are here for every moment of it!

This song is a true dance-pop bop, which is everything we hope for when we hear that Tones and I is dropping new music! Our expectations were exceeded. Unfortunately, there is no music video for this song yet, but we are crossing our fingers hoping she gets on it soon!

“‘I Get High’ is about the nostalgia of growing up with friends. Sneaking out and enjoying our youth, looking back and reminiscing about the people that were and are in your life, that make you feel alive. There is magic in this song.”

Tones and I stated in a press release

We definitely feel that magic that she is talking about. ✨ The beauty of this song is that it takes us to a different dimension of time and space where we can forget all our problems. It also has that nostalgic feel that brings us back to the reckless youth that Tones and I reference. Even if you weren’t rebellious in your teenage years, you can probably still relate to that carefree feeling of no responsibilities and great vibes with friends.

‘Dreaming’ (Acoustic Version)

A drastic change from ‘I Get High,’ the acoustic version of ‘Dreaming’ takes us straight to our dream state of calm music and gorgeous vocals. It’s also giving gospel tones and sounds just like warm butter 🧈 melting. The desperation in her voice towards the end of the song is so gorgeous and we can’t help but hope for more acoustic sets in the future! The vocals are undeniable and hard to ignore. If there was ever a time to stan Tones and I, it’s now! Get your cowgirl hat on and your boots strapped, because we’re in for the long haul.

We have to say, we love this acoustic version better than the original…don’t come for us! Our dream would be to hear this song live one day. Again, keeping our fingers crossed. 🤞

If you’re like us and want to hear these songs live, you are in luck! Tones and I is headed out on tour starting this March with the legendary performer, P!nk! Two legends, one stage! Check out the dates below and buy tickets here.
