Our lovely Troye Sivan is no stranger to releasing older tracks with features or remixes of some of our favorite tracks. Just recently, he hit up Bag Raiders, who we know you’re familiar with, *cough* *cough* ‘Shooting Stars’ *cough*. This track was everywhere on the internet; it truly was iconic, and Troye Sivan had the pleasure of sampling it for his track ‘Got Me Started,’ and now they jumped on a new remix of the track.
‘Got Me Started (Bag Raiders Remix)
When we first heard the sample of ‘Shooting Stars’ in ‘Got Me Started’ with the release of Something To Give Each Other, we were hooked; then we heard the remix, and to quote Olivia Rodrigo, we were so obsessed. We gotta say, this is probably Troye’s best remix version of a song that he has released before, and probably one of our favorite collabs he’s had. Just with that breakdown alone, whew, we had to keep pressing replay. Thank you, Troye and Bag Raiders, for our newest obsession
Troye is no stranger to collaborations on remakes of some of his hit tracks. He’s had some other amazing artists alongside him, so in honor of the ‘Got Me Started’ remix, here are some of our other favorite collabs.
‘1999’
Let’s first take it back to ‘1999’ Troye’s collab with Charli XCX was one we definitely saw coming, and you know what, it had exceeded our expectations for a collab between the two artists. The music video will live on forever.
‘Easy (with Kacey Musgraves, feat. Mark Ronson)’
There’s no way this version of ‘Easy’ wouldn’t have made our list. Three incredible songwriters wrapped up in one track—what else could we ask for? There is simply no one else like Troye Siva, Kacey Musgraves, and Mark Ronson.
‘WILD ft. Alessia Cara’
*Sigh* ‘WILD ft. Alessia Cara,’ we can say so many good things about this collab. This was back when we had Blue Neighbourhood and Know-It-All on repeat. We still have it in our daily mixes to this day.
As we mentioned, Troye’s remakes of his tracks are simply a1. It’s always just as good as the original, which is sometimes really hard to come by, but Troye Sivan and artists like we mentioned above are just that good.
