‘Don’t Think Twice,’ It’s Alright To Get Into VALA!

Our newest recommendation is for you, indie music lovers! Meet VALA, a four-piece indie-pop band from Manchester that has conquered our playlists with their brand new single, ‘Don’t Think Twice (It’s Not Alright).’ This release represents VALA’s passion for their craft – let’s go ahead and give you a proper introduction!

VALA’s love for songwriting shows throughout their new track, as ‘Don’t Think Twice (It’s Not Alright)’ illustrates a conversation between two people: one chasing to resolve their issues and the other trying to distance themselves from the situation. This new single is a masterpiece. We love so many of its verses!

We love how the track goes back and forth between these two individuals, and we really like how the verses describe that feeling of wanting that person back while the chorus describes the opposite. Going from “if it’s alright with you, would you come back home?” to the catchy “don’t think twice, it’s not alright, you won’t see me, I’ll be gone for a while” is so clever. VALA has also described that feeling of missing someone with some amazing imagery, as it moves greater and greater as the song goes on. We start with “I’ve been running down in circles” to “I’ve been trying hard to use my toothpaste” and “I’ve been crawling up and down the wall.” Truly genius.

These lyrics come together with a great instrumental (the outro is absolutely phenomenal) to make ‘Don’t Think Twice (It’s Not Alright)‘ one of our favorite indie releases of the month!

VALA is getting the recognition they deserve, as ‘Don’t Think Twice (It’s Not Alright)’ has already gotten radio spins in the UK! This release is also their latest single from their upcoming EP. We can’t wait to listen to more of their amazing lyrics!

The band will also be playing their biggest highlight show yet at The Deaf Institute in Manchester on December 10th! You can get your tickets here.
