Dylan Emmet is a singer/songwriter and producer based out of Upstate New York who began writing and producing music in 2013. After releasing a few singles here and there, Dylan began to pick up the pace after finding out he had a two-year-old daughter. The world shifted overnight as he became an “instant dad.”

Almost immediately, Dylan Emmet packed up his California home and moved to be closer to his daughter. We love to see the dedication, and the new distance from LA is certainly not a problem for his creativity. Emmet splits his time between both coasts and has utilized video chats as a way to continue collaborating with artists.

He even started releasing more personal pieces about his journey in life and where it is leading him.

So, of course, people loved it.

And he’s back again with 7 original songs on his new EP Midas II. It features ‘This Is Such A Mess, It’s Not Worth Faking,’ a pop punk-inspired track all about a slightly toxic relationship he was recently involved in. “I wanted to make a song,” Dylan explained, “that channeled the feeling of ‘this is so bad, but also, the best.’”

We’rе like fire when it catches
Burning fast until we’re ashes
There’s no happy ever after
It’s a beautiful disaster
We’re no good at being actors
Faults and all we’re being ourselves
There’s no happy ever after
It’s a beautiful disaster
