Gwyn Love is making a splash on the cheeky new track, ‘ur gf kisses me,’ singing “Your girlfriend kisses me / When you’re not around / When she gets lonely / We cuddle on the couch.”
The dreamy synth-led song is part of their journey to a sophomore album that the singer-songwriter promises will be “very diverse,” coming sometime this year (fingers crossed!).
Of this song in particular, the singer previously said, “I wrote this song with the help of Chad Petree about real-life events. I wanted it to sound sort of dreamy because it was this fantasyland where I actually stood up to my friend’s terrible boyfriend and told him off when in real life, I was way too terrified of the repercussions to do that. The creation of this song was so fulfilling as it came out exactly as I imagined it. This is one of my favorite songs I’ve ever written to date, and I’m ecstatic to finally be able to share it with the world.”
On Instagram, they called the song “one of my fav songs I’ve ever made.”

We love your new song, ‘ur gf kisses me!’ Congrats on releasing it 🙂 How did you go about making the song sound “dreamy?” What went into the creative process of making it?
Thank you so much! I think the synths and the background vocals come together to make this track the dreamy track that it is. I wrote the song on my keyboard and brought it to my producer, and showed him some references, and this was the product!
Your music has been described as genre-defying. What do you listen to that influences you musically?
I listen to so many different artists and genres, so that could be why my music is described that way. I like EDM, indie, pop, pop punk, lots of different influences.
How did you get into making music? Has this always been your dream?
I started writing songs when I was 12 but didn’t really start taking it seriously until I was about to graduate from high school and realized there was nothing else that interested me in life.
Will there be a music video for this song? If so, are there any hints you can drop about it?
There will be! The music video will come out a couple weeks after the song, and it lives up to the dreaminess of the song.
If you performed this song live with your dream set and band, what would that look like? How would you do it?
I actually have a band, and this is on the setlist. We have done a couple rehearsals already. Excited to do this one live!
If you could write or duet with anyone in music, who would you choose?
Taylor Swift, for sure, but that’s a bit far-fetched. Realistically, I would love to write with Joan.
What are your favorite things to hear in music? Any certain instruments or sounds that you are always drawn to?
I’m drawn to the keys and synths, for sure. I also love the sound of a guitar. A nice sax solo always hits as well.
Are you working on an album? Can you reveal anything about the kind of energy you want an album to have?
I am working on an album, and this album will be a bit more EDM inspired than my last album DIMR. It is very diverse and has a little something for everyone.
What was it like going from Oklahoma to Los Angeles? How did it impact your music?
It was a huge change, but I have always felt a calling to Los Angeles. I think it impacts my music as I experience a lot more here because there’s always something going on. I write from experience, so this is helpful.
Lastly, what are some things you’re manifesting for 2023? What can fans expect this year?
They can expect an album and live shows very soon! 🙂
