ATLAS Has No Shame Admitting That ‘Boys Do Cry’

ATLAS TPOP Boys Do Cry

As no one else should either… We all need to just let it out at some point. And if letting it out means a hot, emotional pop-rock mess like the Thai boy group’s latest release, then we really have nothing to complain about.

ATLAS’ previous release from September, ‘มังคุด (Mangosteen),’ is still on repeat over here. And it has us crying from the cravings it’s giving us for ✨oh, those very yummy✨ fresh mangosteens we had in Thailand. Because yes…’Boys Do Cry,’ and so does The Honey POP team. 🤷‍♀️

Although we were still not over our fruit cravings, ATLAS was not wasting any time. Earlier this month, they dropped yet another bop that had us in our feels. But ‘Boys Do Cry’ is more than just a great song… It’s like a howl of vulnerability mixed with a scream of encouragement to express our feelings.

ATLAS’ Moun actually co-produced and co-wrote the song himself. Making him a major part of this unforgettable emotional rollercoaster. Lyrics like “ผู้ชายก็ร้องไห้เป็นเว้ย | ไม่ต้องเข้ามาทำให้เจ็บเลย” (“Boys do cry, damn! Stop hurting me”) and “ลองแล้วที่ให้กลั้นไว้ แต่น้ำตามันก็ไหลเป็นทาง | ไม่เอาแล้วที่ต้องทำเหมือนว่าไม่เป็นอะไร” (“I’ve tried to hold it back, but tears will flow. | I don’t want to pretend like it’s nothing”) just hit right where they meant to hit. It’s beautiful, it’s soulful, it’s honest, it’s raw, it’s vulnerable, it’s relatable.

‘Boys Do Cry’ isn’t just about crying, though. It’s as complex as emotions tend to get. It shows anger; it shows eagerness. There’s disappointment, anguish, and sadness all mixed together. And hey, we can promise our and ALIS’ love is as real as it gets, no illusions here.🫶
