THE I’M SO FEELING ALONE TOUR rolled through Houston last week and we are so glad that we did not miss it! Knox and maryjo put on an incredible performance and had us leaving the venue wanting them to keep playing encores.
Opener
maryjo was first up and this was our first time seeing her life and she did not disappoint. maryjo’s vocals are otherworldly and we can see her headlining large venues in the coming years. She really knows how to command attention and get everyone on their feet and having fun.
Although we are fond of her most recent single, ‘Should Be Us,’ maryjo covered ‘Still Into You’ by Paramore. Not only did she not play around with those vocals, she also had beach balls thrown into the crowd. You could tell maryjo and her band were having the best time on stage during this song and it was a nice break in between her own original songs. The crowd also couldn’t get enough, and we might be a bit biased cause we absolutely adore Paramore too.
In conclusion, Knox picked the absolute perfect person to open for him on THE I’M SO FEELING ALONE TOUR.
We will be keeping a sharp eye on maryjo’s socials to make sure we don’t miss when she comes back around to our city!
‘I Like Your Confidence, But You’re Not The 1975’
The room came alive when Knox came onto stage and opened up with ‘Love Letter.’ Although he may have been “deathly ill,” we couldn’t tell. His energy and vocals never fluctuated or showed that he felt ill.
“Could not ask for a better crowd to help support me”
Midway through the set, Knox brought our Maryjo to sing their song, ‘We’re Not In Love Anymore,’ and we have to be honest… we absolutely love when headliners bring out their openers to sing with them during their set. It’s always a wholesome interaction and our hearts melt every time.
Not only did Knox shout out his band, but he also made sure to shout out his photographer, tour manager, and sound engineer. We hope future artists take note because it’s always nice to be shouted out, especially for those working tirelessly behind the scenes to keep a show running.
“Taylor Swift isn’t the only one to write about Matty Healy”
Getting to see Knox perform was definitely on our bucket list and we are so glad he played all of our favorite songs! We got to finally hear ‘Not The 1975,’ ‘I’m So Good At Being Alone,’ ‘Sneakers,’ and ‘Love Letter.’ We even got to hear a new acoustic song that he’s only played on IG live a few times. It’s called ‘Invisible,’ and we are counting down the days until Knox releases that song onto Spotify. We need it on our playlist ASAP!
