Eventim Apollo hosted Paloma Faith, and it was a complete show-stopper. We’ve never been to this venue when it’s been seated “stalls” for a show, but there were rows upon rows of seats filled with people there to enjoy Paloma’s show!
She came out hot and heavy with ‘There’s Nothing More Human Than Failure.’ There was no warm-up, no easing into this show, it was intense from the get-go. The vocals were off the charts instantly, from belting high notes to lyrics that really pull you in. Paloma Faith has always known how to put on a show, she’s been doing this for nearly 15 years. We’re sure you learn a thing or two about performance in that time span.
We, of course, had to relish in the talent we were witnessing. Maybe some tears were shed on our end, you’ll never know for sure though… Maybe we didn’t cry, maybe we did.
With hits like ‘God in a Dress’ and ‘Cry on the Dance Floor’ Paloma Faith had mastered the perfect setlist. Showcasing most of her new album The Glorification of Sadness, whilst closing out the set with arguably her biggest song to-date ‘Only Love Can Hurt Like This.’
Not sure if you can tell by the photos, but, the energy was high right from the start, she would not stop moving. Making sure everyone saw every part of that performance, the backup singers and the band really helped elevate the show. We couldn’t keep our eyes off Paloma the entire time. Every part of that show made you feel pulled in, from the stage design to the contrasting outfits and lighting. It’ll take a while to recover from vocals like that, they were ethereal.
