It’s no secret that we love queer LA pop artist Jordan Suaste here at The Honey POP. After hearing his singles, ‘heaven,’ ‘the devil,’ and our exclusive interview with Jordan, we’ve been anxiously awaiting his new EP, maybe i already am. We can definitely say that maybe i already am is one of the best EPs of the year. The major themes of the EP are self-love and acceptance, especially in regards to sexuality. maybe i already am is filled with queer anthems that fans can truly resonate with. This EP is full of beautiful lyrics, so here are our eight favorite lyrics from each song off of maybe i already am.
‘love who you want to’
“I can feel there’s something on the tip of my tongue
Love me like you know tomorrow ain’t gonna come”
‘MINE’
“Boy, say you’re all mine
Baby we’ll be fine
Before we end the night say that you’re all mine“
‘heaven’
“Angels and devils, like to play games
If I go to hell, I’ll go down in flames
Don’t take me to heaven, if my love can’t stay
If this is a sin, I still wouldn’t change“
‘charlie’
“I had to learn to love myself the hard way,
cause there no books for ten year olds with heartache”
‘god or the universe or something else’
“My hope, has been depleting
but I need to keep believing
one day I’ll be happy again
it’ll be worth it in the end”
‘the devil’
“My sacred touch, my holy kiss
you taught me right with every sin”
‘scary to be loved’
“They’ll never notice if the stars fall
Would you stand or would you break?
Would let me in, if we reached the end?“
‘choose me’
“I didn’t choose to be put in this body
No, I didn’t choose to be hated for loving
Why would I choose to love someone, who’s leaving
Why would I choose to be hated for breathing,“
