In case you’ve missed it, our favorite Canadian pop-punk band is back and has been releasing new music left and right. Over the last few months Bearings have blessed our ears with two new songs as well as reimagined versions of ‘Slip’ and ‘Scenery’ from their last album – The Best Part About Being Human.
Most recently, the band dropped ‘Gone, So Gone – Reimagined’, which takes an originally upbeat piece and transforms it into a more stripped-back raw version. This rendition showcases a different side of Bearings and shows them as the multi-dimensional artists they are. For many of the reimagined tracks, they also serve as a way to portray some iconic TBPABH tracks as they were originally written.
“The original way the song was demoed. Was fun taking it back to where the songs original vision one was and having some fun with it.”
Bearings on ‘Gone, So Gone – Reimagined’
Bearings has also announced the deluxe version of The Best Part About Being Human, which is set to drop on September 20th. The release will feature three new tracks, including ‘Make Your Way Back to Me’ and ‘Stormy Weather,’ as well as the three reimagined songs.

In addition to all the new music, Bearings have also announced a fall co-headlining tour with fellow THP faves: Broadside! In honor of the new tracks and tour, here’s our dream Bearings setlist – Reimagined:
‘Gone, So Gone’
“The words are barely spoken
I won’t fuss
We’re here for a just moment
It’s not yours or anyones”
Obviously, we had to include ‘Gone, So Gone’! Not only is it one of the tracks Bearings chose to record reimagined, but it was also a single prior to the original release of The Best Part About Being Human. This song made its live debut earlier this year on Neck Deep’s winter headliner and was instantly a crowd favorite. Whether it’s the original punchy version or an acoustic variant, we believe this one deserves to keep its setlist slot!
‘Make Your Way Back To Me’
“One day, yeah, we can laugh at
How everything is cursed
‘Cause it’s a cruel world
Together watch it burn”
‘Make Your Way Back To Me’ is one of the newer singles and has yet to make its live debut. The song is more of a stripped-back acoustic number, compared to Bearings’ typical upbeat bangers. Not only would it give space to highlight the band’s growth since the start of their nearly decade-long career, but also give the crowd a break from Bearings’ usual high-energy sets.
‘Aforementioned’
“Forget what you told
Focus, breathe in slow
Life is much shorter than we know
Spending hours in the afterglow”
This song is a little older than the rest, but if you know anything about the THP team, we’re suckers for a sentimental track! ‘Aforementioned’ was the first single released from Bearings’ debut album, Blue in the Dark, and has had us hooked ever since. It’s been a few tour cycles since we’ve seen this one on a Bearings setlist, but we hope it will make an appearance on the Bearings x Broadside tour!
Ready To See Them Live?
As we’ve mentioned, Bearings has also announced they’ll be heading out on a US co-headlining tour with Broadside this fall! They’ll be accompanied by Stateside and UNWELL on the trek. Tickets are on sale now, so be sure to grab them while you can! For a full list of dates and tickets, click here.
What do you think of Bearings’ reimagined tracks, and will we see you at any upcoming shows? Which songs do you hope makes the setlist for the tour? Let us know in the comments, on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter!
