As Halloween approaches, it’s time to conjure up some enchanting festivities and indulge in the spooky spirit of the season. It’s our favorite time of year here in the hive, so we’re always looking for creative ways to celebrate the season. This time around, we figured why not combine some more of our favorite things: fun drinks and good music!
These mocktails are perfect for adding a new silly little drink to your rotation or serving up at an upcoming fall festivity. Plus, they’re perfect for including our sober besties in the celebrations, ensuring that everyone can join in on the fun without missing out on the spooky spirit. Whether you’re channeling the introspective depth of The Tortured Poet’s Department or the energetic charm of Short ‘n Sweet, these drinks will be the perfect accompaniment to your spooky soirée.
‘The Alchemy’
Inspired by The Tortured Poet’s Department – Taylor Swift
Despite coming out in spring of this year, so many songs on The Tortured Poet’s Department radiate fall vibes! Something about Taylor Swift’s music screams curling up with a warm beverage, so what better way to honor the album than with an elevated hot apple cider?
Ingredients:
- 1-gallon fresh apple cider or apple juice
- 1 medium orange
- 1 piece fresh ginger
- Cinnamon sticks (Can also use around 1 tablespoon of ground cinnamon)
- 1 tablespoon whole cloves
- Orange slices, for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
- Pour 1 gallon apple cider into a slow cooker (should be 5 qt or larger).
- Cut orange and fresh ginger into 1/4-inch-thick slices. Add both to the slow cooker.
- Add cinnamon sticks, cloves, and any other spices you desire.
- Cover the slow cooker and cook for 4 hours on low.
- Serve your favorite seasonal mug and garnish with orange slices (optional).

That’s Me ‘Espresso’
Inspired by Short ‘n Sweet – Sabrina Carpenter
There’s no denying Short ‘n Sweet is a contender for everyone’s AOTY! The album is full of bangers and is an instant classic. Sure, choosing an ‘Espresso’ inspired drink may be a little basic but who doesn’t love a fun little iced coffee! And if you prefer yours hot feel free to omit the ice ;).
Ingredients:
- 2 oz espresso (cooled)
- 1 oz cinnamon syrup (or 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon)
- 1 oz milk of choice (We prefer oatmilk!)
- Whipped cream or cold foam for topping (optional)
- Ice
Instructions:
- In a glass, combine the cooled espresso, cinnamon syrup, and milk.
- Stir well and add ice.
- Top with whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon (optional).
Make it boozy by adding a splash of baileys or vanilla vodka

‘Tough Love’
Inspired by The Secret of Us – Gracie Abrams
It’s no ‘Secret’ Gracie Abrams absolutely blew us out of the water with The Secret of Us! This album was meant to be played while romanticizing our lives strolling through Boston or sitting on a rooftop bar while overlooking the city. That’s why our pick for the album is our version of a cosmopolitan!
Ingredients:
- 2 oz cranberry juice
- 1 oz orange juice
- 1 oz sparkling water
- 1/4 oz of simple syrup
- Fresh cranberries and orange slice for garnish
Instructions:
- In a glass, combine cranberry juice, orange juice, and simple syrup.
- Add ice and top with sparkling water.
- Garnish with fresh fruit
Feel free to swap sparkling water for lemon-lime soda or sparkling wine for a twist.

‘APPLE’-Tini
Inspired by Brat – Charli XCX
Charli XCX’s Brat was undeniably one of the most iconic releases of 2024! There are so many different directions we could have gone when crafting a mocktail for this album, but we had to include our own spin on the ‘apple’-tini. We’re sure there’s some pun about working it on the remix to make a sober version of this classic cocktail, but we’ll leave that up to you to come up with 🤭!

Ingredients:
- 3 oz apple cider (or juice for a sweeter more relaxed flavor)
- 1 oz lemon juice
- 1 oz green apple syrup (adjust to taste)
- 1 oz sparkling water
- Green apple slice for garnish
- Ice
Instructions:
- Fill a shaker with ice.
- Add the cider, lemon juice, and apple syrup.
- Shake well until chilled.
- Strain the mixture into a martini glass.
- Top with sparkling water for some fizz.
- Garnish with apple slices (optional).

Inspired by Hit Me Hard and Soft – Billie Eilish
Billie Eilish’s Hit Me Hard and Soft has become an instant hive favorite! This drink may stray from a fall classic, but we felt a refreshing floral bev complimented this album best.
Ingredients:
- 2 oz hibiscus tea (chilled)
- 1 oz elderflower syrup
- 1 oz honey syrup (honey mixed with warm water)
- Sparkling water to top
- Lemon wheel and lavender sprigs for garnish
- Ice
Instructions:
- In a glass, combine chilled tea, elderflower syrup, and honey syrup.
- Add ice and top with sparkling water.
- Garnish with lemon wheel or lavender sprigs (optional).
Make it boozy by replacing sparkling water with your favorite sparkling wine and adding in 1 oz of elderflower liqueur.

ICYMI: The icon herself Cassadee Pope has returned to her pop-punk roots! This year, she released her official comeback album Hereditary, and we haven’t stopped buzzing about it. This drink is both sweet and sour and compliments Cassadee’s vibes perfectly.
Ingredients:
- 2 oz rose syrup
- 1 oz fresh lemon juice
- 1 oz pomegranate juice
- Sparkling water to top
- Rose petals for garnish
- Ice
Instructions:
- In a shaker, combine rose syrup, lemon juice, and pomegranate juice with ice.
- Shake well until chilled.
- Strain into a glass filled with ice.
- Top with sparkling water.
- Garnish with rose petals (if desired).
Make it boozy by replacing sparkling water with your favorite sparkling wine and adding in 2 oz of your favorite gin.

Speaking of iconic moments, rising pop-punk star, Taylor Acorn, recently released her debut album, Survival In Motion! We’ve been waiting for this one for years and we could not be more stoked about it! We chose to give this album our fall twist on a Shirley temple, since like Taylor, this drink fills us with serotonin.
Ingredients:
- 4 oz ginger ale (or ginger beer for a spicier kick)
- 2 oz cranberry juice
- 1/2 oz grenadine
- 2 oz sparkling apple cider
- Fresh cranberries, apples, or cinnamon sticks for garnish (optional)
- Ice
Instructions:
- Fill a glass with ice.
- Pour in the ginger ale and cranberry juice.
- Add the sparkling apple cider.
- Mix in the grenadine.
- Garnish with fresh cranberries, apple slices, and/or a cinnamon stick (optional).

‘White Shores’
Inspired by I Want To Disappear – The Story So Far
Sticking with unforgettable comebacks, The Story So Far has finally (only six years after Proper Dose) graced us with their fifth album, I Want To Disappear! This album came out in June and we still aren’t over it. The drink we created for this album is more on the summer-y side but just like TSSF, can be enjoyed any time.
Ingredients:
- 2 oz coconut water
- 2 oz white grape juice
- 1 oz fresh lime juice
- 1 oz honey syrup (honey mixed with warm water)
- Sparkling Water to top
- A pinch of cinnamon (optional)
- Sprig of rosemary for garnish (optional)
- Ice
Instructions:
- In a shaker, combine coconut water, white grape juice, lime juice, honey syrup, and a pinch of cinnamon with ice.
- Shake well until chilled.
- Strain the mixture into a glass filled with ice.
- Top with sparkling water for a fizzy finish.
- Garnish with cinnamon and a sprig of rosemary (optional).
Make it boozy by substituting white grape juice for your favorite white wine.

Continuing on with comebacks we can’t stop buzzing about, hive favorite Marianas Trench released their first album in five years, Haven. The album is inspired by Joseph Campbell’s The Hero’s Journey so what better way to bring that concept to life by our (very loose) take on the classic dark and stormy.
Ingredients:
- 2 oz blackcurrant juice
- 1 oz lemon juice
- 1 oz honey syrup (honey mixed with warm water)
- Ginger beer to top
- Lemon wheel or thyme sprig for garnish (optional)
- Ice

- Shake well until chilled.

Inspired by You Won’t Go Before You’re Supposed To – Knocked Loose
Last but not least, metalcore (NOT hardcore) powerhouses, Knocked Loose released their latest album You Won’t Go Before You’re Supposed To back in May and it has not left our rotations. This type of music never fails to give us a buzz so an energy drink-based beverage only felt appropriate!
Ingredients:
- 2 oz ginger beer
- 1 oz fresh lime juice
- 1 oz agave syrup
- 3 oz energy drink of choice (we use citrus flavored!)
- Lime wedges and ginger slices for garnish (optional)
- Ice
Instructions:
- In a shaker, combine ginger juice, lime juice, and agave syrup with ice.
- Shake well until chilled.
- Strain into a glass filled with ice.
- Top with the energy drink and stir gently.
- Garnish with lime wedges and ginger slices (optional).
