One thing about us here at THP is that we are huge fans of alternative music. Another thing about us? We’re also always buzzing at the chance to tell you about our brand-new music obsessions. Which is why we can’t wait to tell you all about our favorite new band: Saint Blonde.
The Denton, TX-based rockers are quickly making waves in the alternative scene! Fresh off signing with Pale Chord (an imprint of Rise Records) and surpassing 10 million streams, Saint Blonde are keeping the momentum rolling with their latest single and music video, ‘Prowl!’
The track dives into the difficult and oftentimes humbling world of trying to date in 2024 and the cycle of self-discovery that comes alongside it. All while capturing the essence of the band’s unique sound—a rock edge that’s balanced by those infectious indie-pop hooks. Our favorite part? The song’s addicting bass line carries on throughout the whole thing. Honestly, we would inject it into our bloodstream if we could. Regardless, it’s clear: Saint Blonde is carving out a place as one of the most exciting new acts in the alternative world.
“It’s a song about self improvement and (maybe even remorse in a way). New beginnings and being afraid to make the jump with a new person.”
Vocalist, Hunter Fitch on ‘Prowl’
As we mentioned before, Saint Blonde also dropped a music video to accompany ‘Prowl,’ and trust us, it does not disappoint! The visual is a playful and oddly nostalgic romp through a series of scenes and different time periods, including the tried and true classic – a laundromat. It highlights the carefree, almost absurd vibe of the song and shows the band’s silly side.
Our Favorite Lyrics
“I heard it goin ‘round
That you’re out on the prowl
Not lookin’ for another maybe
I won’t let you down”
Want More Saint Blonde?
Obviously, ‘Prowl’ is a standout single on its own. But it would be cruel to only offer you that one track. Saint Blonde brings that addictive indie-pop sound that’s taken over our playlists (and hearts!) in recent years, while subtly blending in a rock influence. It just works so well, leaving you wanting so much more! So here are three more essential Saint Blonde songs for your listening enjoyment.
‘Trendsetter’
“The laughter carries on in my head
Where it haunts
Is that living?”
‘Coil’
“Armed with the prize of another summer
I’d shine if I played along
But got a soul of a different color
It takes time to know you’re wrong”
‘Rollercoaster’
“Don’t hang around you thorn in my side
This town’s not for boys with stars in their eyes
All the girls like me
We run the streets”
What’s Next For Saint Blonde?
Unfortunately, we can’t tell you what’s next for Saint Blonde, as they haven’t announced any more upcoming music or tours. However, we do know that the band is destined for great things—and we’ll be the first to tell you all about it, Honeybees.
