A mix of snow and rain blanketed the city Sunday night, turning streets into a slow-moving wait and making fans wonder if the night’s show would go as planned. But despite the weather’s best efforts, Wallows’ much-anticipated Providence show pushed forward, proving that neither cold nor traffic could dampen their excitement. The band has been on the road for a solid stretch playing their 2024 studio release ‘Model’ (and anticipatory release ‘More’ in March this upcoming year) which has been on rotation since the summer for us. As they are gearing up to play mostly sold-out crowds, we were amped to experience yet another well-rounded concert from Wallows—a testament to their ever-growing fanbase and the continuous energy they bring to every stage.
Deb Never

Kicking off the night was Deb Never, a nostalgic, shoegaze-infused alternative rock artist whose relaxed energy didn’t go unnoticed. Wasting no time, they set foot on stage with confidence, bringing a sound that felt both intimate and expansive. Backed by their band—dressed in the perfect mix of indie-kid sleek and ready to jam out—Deb Never delivered a performance that felt effortlessly cool yet deeply engaging. Their signature sound, often described as having a VHS-like quality, translated beautifully in a live setting, resonating with the crowd.
Midway through their set, they introduced themselves, noting it was their first time in Providence. With a grin, they urged the crowd to keep dancing. Deb Never is the perfect fusion of nostalgia and the kind of music you’d spin on a bedroom vinyl session—familiar yet fresh. They offered a new twist on a sound that feels like it’s simmering into something distinct yet deeply relatable. Never is just getting started, and we can’t wait to see where their sound takes them next.
Wallows

Wallows took the stage with an effortless, laid-back entrance, exuding the kind of cool confidence that only comes from years of playing together. But while their demeanor was relaxed, the energy inside the venue was anything but. With their highly anticipated unreleased album More on the horizon, the excitement in the air was undeniable. From the very first note, it was clear that this wasn’t just a concert to most—it was a celebration of experiences. The band’s love for interacting with the crowd was on full display, their faces lit up with smiles as they soaked in the sea of fans shouting every lyric.

Through the rainy snow and long wait outside, Wallows made it all worth it, turning the night into something unforgettable. What truly stands out is how deeply fans invest in showing up and showing out. We felt the love throughout the venue, making those who have been there since the beginning—and those witnessing them for the first time—proud to be part of something bigger. We often write live show reviews, however, some shows perfectly remind us why we do what we do. This was one of them, and it was a privilege to experience firsthand.
A Dream Come True

From the lighting design, stage set up, and the craft of their tour set up, it didn’t go unnoticed that Wallows thought of it all. “We can think on the years gone by, or we can count the tears that have gone by,” but this would be the perfect opportunity for you to sing along live.
Wallows’ tour is still in full swing, and if you haven’t secured a ticket, now’s your chance to experience it. While the tour is still active, you might find yourself dancing in the night at a show near you. Don’t sleep on it as you might get your new concert fix from these cool indie kids.
