Looking at the city unfolding in front of him while he was trying new beats on his laptop was a revelation for him, and that’s the mission he wants to portray with his music today. After creating some incredible pop hits and relatable projects, the artist decided to release a deluxe version of his debut album titled The Story Continues, a very fitting title to showcase the realities of the human experience and our constantly evolving.
We got the chance to chat with Livingston during his press conference about his personal evolution while creating this album, how he created the deluxe, and more about his lyrics and his vulnerability in his music! Always In The Making, Always Evolving
Livingston wants to create a soundtrack for his listeners so that they feel like there’s a light at the end of the tunnel. So that they feel like they have control over their destiny. That’s the message portrayed throughout his musical career, which becomes even more solid with The Story Continues. Every track from the deluxe album sounds more confident than the songs from the original project. Livingston shared with us that he has had a complicated relationship with this album since he started working on it when he was 14 years old, and he felt that there was one more level to explore with it (hence, the deluxe!). He shared that all the versions of himself (the inner child and his daily adult life) come together when creating his music to showcase his past, his present, and his future.

Livingston has done a great job at balancing his sharing of his life while also making it a relatable soundtrack for everyone to enjoy. The artist focuses on the emotions he wants to portray in his music and how he wants them to become full pop songs with melodies and production elements from the genre.
“Songwriting is (kind of) this magic prism that can take all these emotions and thoughts that are very difficult to put into words.”

Every track from The Story Continues sounds like a story on its own, as well as coming together to talk about the human experience, Livingston style. The artist told us through the press conference that he wants his listeners to find clarity in his songs. He wants to remind his fans that they are not alone by sharing his experiences and simply focusing on what’s happening inside their heads and their hearts. We love it when our favorite artists really take into account how difficult life can be and how they want their songs to be our escape!
Sound Experimenting 101: A Masterclass By Livingston
The Story Continues is a creative deluxe rollout in so many different ways. You can look at the tracklist and see for yourself! A deluxe release will have all the new tracks coming at the end of the original album’s songs, but Livingston didn’t want to follow this pattern. He didn’t want these new feelings and these new lyrics trapped under the songs he made when he was a teenager. These tracks are more electric, and you can hear the growth of his artistry through this order!
This growth also comes with changes in Livingston’s vocal and production style. He explained that he’s always looking to change and evolve as a singer-songwriter, and he wanted this deluxe to feel like the climax of his debut album. He also highlighted the importance of having mentors in the music world since he was able to challenge his own writing and crafting to become the best version of Livingston. His musical world is all about getting better at describing his feelings and making them stand out!
The Story Continues Comes Alive On Stage!
We must talk about the singer’s connection with his fans when he’s performing live! If you go through Livingston’s social media, you can see so many videos of his crowds deeply involved with his music, singing every verse back at him. These connections have made the artist realize how important his songs are and how he has impacted many lives. He is ready to recreate this feeling again this summer in North America by creating amazing concerts where his fanbase feels safe within his lyrics and his stage presence.
