With the release of his debut album Going, Going, Gone, Knox hit the road for his first big tour—fittingly named after the album—and we were lucky enough to catch him in Los Angeles. When he first announced the tour back in January, we weren’t totally sure what to expect, especially since we knew a whole new album was coming. The anticipation was real. We couldn’t wait to hear what he’d been working on in the studio—and of course, he did not disappoint.
The album dropped on April 4th, which gave us just under a month to memorize every lyric before the show. (Spoiler alert: we absolutely did.)

As always, we tried not to look ahead of the day of the show at the setlist so we could be fully surprised, and when he opened with ‘Going, Going, Gone,’ then followed it up with ‘Love Letter,’ our jaws were on the floor. There was no better way to start off the show. What really stood out, though, was how naturally he connected with the crowd. It didn’t feel like we were watching an artist put on a show—it felt like we were part of something with him. When he pulled out older tracks like ‘Sneakers,’ it was a full-on nostalgia moment for fans who’ve been there since the beginning.
And just when we thought it couldn’t get any better, he closed the night with ‘Not the 1975,’ and let’s just say… that moment lives rent-free in our heads now. The perfect closer to a night we didn’t want to end.

What made the show so special wasn’t just the music (though, yeah, that was amazing), but the way Knox made the whole thing feel personal. He’s got this easy, genuine stage presence that makes you feel like you’ve known him forever—even if it’s your first time seeing him live.
If you haven’t gotten tickets yet, what are you doing? Knox is touring across the U.S. through the end of May, and heading to Europe in the fall. You can get tickets here. Whether you’re a longtime fan or just discovering Going, Going, Gone, this is a show you don’t want to miss.
