Pop stardom suits Addison Rae well. The past few months have been on her side with the release of ‘Diet Pepsi,’ ‘Aquamarine,’ ‘Headphones On,’ ‘High Fashion,’ and ‘Fame is a Gun.’ Each of these single releases has been uniquely Addison, but paired together are some of the best sounds in pop music right now. Truly, Addison never misses!
Addison Rae’s debut album, Addison, is finally here (stream it now!) and we’ve been streaming it nonstop every day. But, we find that we keep coming back to ‘Fame is a Gun’ time and time again. It’s a clear stand-out from the new album, so naturally, we have to take a deep dive into the lyrics. Sorry, it’s what we do best here in the hive.
“Do I provoke you with my tongue of innocence?”
The song opens with an absolute banger of a line. Again, Addison is giving us everything we could have ever wanted with her solo pop career. She’s perfectly herself in her lyrical choices and although some may call her innocent, we know she’s going to prove them all wrong with her vocal weapons.
“You got a front row seat, and I / I got a taste of the glamorous life”
Addison is the definition of glamour. Even though some may make fun of her, they’re watching from the front-row seat, and Addison is still the star of the show here. We’ll forever be cheering in the front row, giving her her flowers with every new song and album drop that is to come!
“I’m your dream girl, but you’re not my type”
Clearly, everyone wants Addison Rae. Yes, that includes us. She’s simply too intoxicating to look away from, and we’ll always have our eyes on her. It’s safe to say she’s definitely our dream girl, and we’ll be waiting patiently until she joins the hive.
