As we await the release of his debut album, we caught Malcolm Todd at the Wiltern during The Wholesome Rockstar Tour, only knowing a handful of his songs. But it was safe to say that by the end of the night, we were fully fans. Not only did Malcolm give the performance of a lifetime, but the music, the crowd, and the atmosphere made it something unforgettable. Malcolm Todd truly lit up LA!
This was the second of three sold out nights in Los Angeles, and the energy inside the Wiltern was electric from the moment the lights went down. Malcolm opened with ‘Harry Styles,’ and it felt like the whole room lit up. People were singing, dancing, and letting loose to all the words. Even if you were not a diehard fan before, it was impossible not to get swept up in the excitement.

The setlist moved between playful, upbeat songs and more emotional, reflective tracks. Songs like ‘Make Me a Better Man,’ ‘Sweet Boy,’ and ‘Walk to Class’ brought a feel good, high energy wave through the crowd. Then there were slower, more personal moments like ‘Bleed’ and ‘Mr. Incorrect,’ where he let the lyrics breathe and gave the audience a chance to connect in a different way.
One of the most special moments of the night was his cover of ‘Our House’ by Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young. He introduced it as a tribute to his best friends and to anyone who came to the show with someone they love. Whether it was a partner, a close friend, or even a sibling, that song felt like a love letter to the people who make us feel at home. It created a beautiful pause in the middle of a high energy night — one of those rare concert moments where you look around and everyone is just fully present.

Later in the set, ‘Good Job Malcolm’ had the crowd on their feet again, singing louder than ever. The night closed with ‘Chest Pain (I Love),’ and by then, there was this unspoken feeling that no one really wanted it to end.
What stood out the most was how naturally Malcolm connected with his audience. He was funny, genuine, and completely in his element. We came in as casual listeners, but we left as real fans. It was not just a concert — it was a shared experience, and one we will be thinking about for a long time.
