In his run of intimate shows, Yungblud performs two very special sets at Southampton’s Engine Rooms. After a quick fight with tonsillitis, we were worried these shows wouldn’t go ahead. But he absolutely smashed it in every way possible.
Despite a short set (which was purposeful, by the way), he gave everything he possibly could. It was everything you would expect from a Yungblud show, but condensed, which only made it feel even more intense. He still ran around the stage, jumped into the crowd, encouraged love and kindness, whilst keeping it rowdy.

Yungblud got emotional talking to the crowd, explaining how special these intimate shows are, how much he loves to see everyone – from people he’s seen for years to brand new faces. Showing up, no matter how big you become, is still so important. And that appreciation goes both ways, Yungblud showing up for his fans, and his fans showing up for him. He really has built such a beautiful and caring community.
Being the rockstar he is, Yungblud announced to both shows that he’d meet people outside afterwards. This sent the staff into a bit of a frenzy. But watching him interact with his fans during and after the shows really proves how much he cares for and loves what he does.

These shows have perfectly captured the energy of not only him as an artist, and how he always has been as an artist on stage, but the intensity behind IDOLS. The album has been in the making for over 4 years and that is evident in the standard of writing and production. We believe this is his best yet! Yungblud sends the listener through every emotion with this album, with inspiration clearly drawn from idols within the industry (pun heavily intended). He has true potential. If he keeps this up, to go down in history with the likes of David Bowie, Freddie Mercury, and Ozzy Osbourne, as a real legend.
