On July 26th, Theo Kandel brought something special to The Forge at The Lower Third. A stripped-back vibe, relatable lyrics, and a great way to spend another summer evening in London.
Tadhg Daly

The night was opened by Tadhg Daly, who set the perfect tone for Theo’s acoustic set. Born in Jersey with Irish roots, Tadhg claims that writing about struggles helps him let them go, and we’re not gonna lie, the results are beautiful. He brought a perfect mix of indie pop songs about love, anxiety, and heartbreak. His set got us fully in our feels and ready for what was to come.
Theo Kandel

The stripped back performance in what might be one the cosiest venues in London, gave the show this intimate vibe of somehow knowing each other, even though we were in a room full of strangers. Especially listening to the stories that Theo told in between the songs – it was definitely more than just a gig! From talking about friends and first loves to family and simply the way life goes, we all related to the lyrics a bit too much. Our favorite by far was ‘Flight to JFK,’ but we also loved his unreleased song ‘7-10 Split.’ It was amazing being able to hear it live!
He surprised us not only with the new song but also his famous cover of ‘1952 Vincent Black Lightning.’ As it was the only show of his tour across the pond, he also brought out his friend Sam Walwyn and they covered Oasis’ ‘Don’t Look Back in Anger.‘ It was definitely a show we didn’t want to miss.
