If you’ve clicked on this article, chances are you need some music recommendations, and Snarls, the Columbus, Ohio indie rock band, caught your eye. After touring with Louis Tomlinson, inviting fans to be in a music video with them, and much more, Snarls’ latest activity has been taking over our playlists! (And our lives at this point) Because of this, we don’t want to gatekeep these girlbosses! We wanted to share our fav tracks of theirs with you! It was a hard task, but we picked our top five Snarls songs that your playlist NEEDS.
‘Marbles’
Love is a crazy thing. It can turn your world upside down and make you feel like you’ve lost your mind, or as Snarls put it, your ‘Marbles.’ We have fallen in love with this song, its playful lyrics, and killer instrumentals. It takes us back to being teenagers with a high school crush all over again, and we love it. Do we have it blasting in our room while we get ready for the day? Absolutely. Do we dance around and use our hairbrushes as microphones and perfume bottles as little mini air guitars? That’s… our business.
“Sugar messes with me, but not as bad as when you leave. I think I lost my mind, I think I lost my marbles”
‘After You (Samanthas Song)’
We love our besties here at The Honey Pop. Especially our long-distance besties! ‘After You (Samantha’s Song)’ is all about those friends you can’t just grab lunch with whenever you want. It highlights the wonderful gem that is a friendship love, and how special it is to have a person who can impact your life so immensely. We’re getting a little emotional just writing about it. This is the first song we heard live by Snarls, and it made us be sure the next time we hugged our long-distance friends, we held on just a bit longer.
“I blow kisses to the moon when no ones looking, just to take after you”
‘Big Fish’
Snarls hits every sort of emotion in their discography, and ‘Big Fish’ covers the feeling of accomplishment, which is something they know all about. They released ‘Big Fish’ as their lead single from their latest album With Love,. The music video for this song, available to watch here, highlights their journey of going on tour with Louis Tomlinson. This song is a must for your hype playlists! You’re not gonna find a song anywhere else containing both “I eat my chicken dinner” and “all the fears I have are empty, now wishing ain’t quite as scary!”
“I’m a big fish and you don’t even know it yet, I’m coming up around the bend and you don’t even know it”
‘Baby Bangs’
Have you ever had to stop and replay a certain part of a song over and over again just to be sure you felt it right? That’s how we were the first time we heard the bridge to ‘Baby Bangs.’ The harmonies in this are sheer magic. It’s a heartfelt ballad that highlights a wide range of emotions: insecurity, yearning, self-distrust, and more. If you have a playlist that has scream-in-the-rain vibes, this song is a MUST.
“Wish I could love you without needing some type of therapeutic assistance” *cue sick guitar solo*
‘Ur Song/Lovers of Valdaro’
Last but certainly NOT least, we recommend ‘Ur Song/Lovers of Valdaro.’ This song is seven minutes and 39 seconds of the sheer beauty that is soft rock and female vocals. It’s about surrounding yourself with the people that bring out the best in you, and it’s giving coming-of-age in the best way possible. The back half of the track is instrumental only, and it’s totally made for lying down and closing your eyes while listening to. It’s the perfect closing track to their most recent album and would be the perfect addition to your playlist.
“It’s getting cold outside, perpetually a lonely night, you lit a fire inside”
Just because we stopped at five songs doesn’t mean you have to! Scope out Snarls and let us know what your favorite track is! You can find us @TheHoneyPop!
