Fresh off the release of their newest album, Joyride the Pale Horse, Cleveland-native pop-punk band Heart Attack Man embarked on the Joyride: The U.S. & Toronto & Also Vancouver Tour, where we got to attend their LA show.
There are soooo many things HAMMY knows how to do, but one of the biggest things (and possibly our favorite thing!) is have fun at a show! These smaller, more intimate shows are where we feel the room can really connect with each other, as well as with the band. Eric Egan himself talked about how this was the best show in LA that they’ve ever played. (We’re so honored, by the way.)

The band sang songs from their new album, as well as some older crowd favorites like ‘Out for Blood,’ ‘Cut My Losses,’ and ‘Leap Year.’ With people crowd surfing, moshing, and stage diving, there was so much energy that couldn’t be extinguished. And we were really hoping the night never had to come to an end.
Crowd favorites came and went, but what we were all waiting for, was listening to these new songs live for the first time. They opened with ‘One More Song (Imposter Syndrome),’ which melted into ‘End of the Gun’ just like it does on the studio version of their song. Something about being able to listen to a song live for the first time ever, whether you resonated with it or not, makes you feel like the luckiest person in the room. And we can only imagine what it feels like from the stage and the band’s perspective.

‘Like A Kennedy‘ also made it onto the setlist, which only influenced the vibes in the room even more, encouraging more stage divers and crowd surfers, and making all of HAMMY permanently smile (despite the content of the song).

If we weren’t having a good Friday night already, seeing Heart Attack Man definitely gave us a jumpstart to the weekend! Shows are still happening in the U.S., and HAMMY is about to take it overseas to Europe, so make sure you get your tickets here.
