After months of Yeonjun teasing MOA relentlessly, it’s official! We’re getting Yeonjun’s debut solo album, NO LABELS: PART 01, on November 7th. We never doubted him for a second, but as soon as we saw that album title, we knew that this was going to be a hit.
Throughout his seven years as an idol, Yeonjun has defied labels time and time again, forever eclipsing what people are expecting of him. We’re so excited to see Yeonjun lean into that with his solo album! With this in mind, we thought you ought to be reminded of some of our favorite ways that Yeonjun defies expectations.
Genre
TXT is a group well-known for transcending genres. From R&B to rock to house and so much more, TXT blur these boundaries in each comeback, not to mention their discography as a whole. Individually, Yeonjun is notorious for this too, embodying each of TXT’s concepts perfectly, seemingly with ease.
Dance
Similarly to within TXT’s broad discography, Yeonjun is also notorious for surpassing expectations for a wide range of dance styles. Originally trained in hip-hop, which he is legendary at, Yeonjun has also gained a reputation for beautiful lines and elegant prowess in styles like contemporary.
Gender
One of our – and MOAs’ – absolute favorite things about Yeonjun is his attitude towards gender. He has always experimented with the masculine and feminine in his performances and clothing, but it runs deeper than that, too. He’s always been happy being addressed as “Unnie” or “Noona” (the Korean honorific titles for females), regularly slays girl group choreographies, and has casually agreed to be MOA’s girlfriend at fan events. These are just some of the many examples of Yeonjun defying gender labels, and we love to see it every single time.
“Who’s to decide whether something is women’s or men’s clothing?”

Fashion
No, we don’t mean literal fashion labels. How could we, when Yeonjun is the darling of Miu Miu, Moncler, Dior, and more? What we’re talking about is an extension of how Yeonjun defies gender labels. In his versatile style, Yeonjun has worn skirts, dresses, corsets, strapless tops, and more. He contrasts this with some very masculine-influenced outfits, too, but each iteration of his style always feels authentic.
NO LABELS’ Rollout
Yeonjun’s solo album rollout (so far) is the most obvious way he’s subverted labels yet. From the label of “idol” to his literal label, BIGHIT MUSIC, Yeonjun’s promo hasn’t been following the usual schedule. First, it was Yeonjun himself who told us we could expect his solo album in November, weeks before any official announcement. He then followed this up by teasing snippets and behind-the-scenes content on his Instagram, and eventually announcing the album on his personal account too, rather than the classic midnight KST Weverse Notice. As NO LABELS: Part 01 is being described as “unfiltered” and “authentic,” this rollout feels like an extension of Yeonjun’s intensions with this solo album, and we absolutely love it.
