“We gon f*ck it up, twin, we gon f*ck it up!” RaeCola open in their new Double Trouble EP, and it’s an accurate recap of the twin sister duo’s tear on the creative world:
participating in campaigns for Adidas and Nike, ✅
appearing in music videos with Justin Timberlake and USHER, ✅
performing at career-defining venues such as Lollapalooza and Burberry’s Rodeo Drive Pop-Up, ✅
And now RaeCola have returned with a three-track EP demonstrating their duality from the hype on the dance floor in ‘No Time to Talk’ to the romantic vulnerability in ‘Said I Don’t Need You But,’ and we got the opportunity to talk to them about their music as well as being colleagues as sisters, and of course, their fashion!
About RaeCola
Thank you for chatting with us! Can you introduce yourself to readers who are discovering you here?
Hii so happy to be here! We’re Rae & Cola, twin sisters, music producers and DJs.
You are bringing Chicago house to venues across the world. What is it about the genre that resonates with you?
House music was created in the underground clubs of Chicago in the 80s as a safe space for Black, Latino, and LGBTQ+ communities to dance freely and unapologetically. That energy of freedom, unity, and self-expression is still what drives us today. Community, inclusivity, and love are always core to us, but especially in a time like right now, we need it. House music really is a movement!
You design the best on-stage ensembles. How would you describe your individual styles?
Tysm! We both love styling so much! Being twins and having identical faces, fashion has always been one of our fav ways to really express ourselves and our individuality. We originally moved to LA for fashion school so it’s fun that we still get to incorporate fashion into our performances!
Cola: My fashion style is similar to my music taste, genre blending and inspired from so many parts of my life. I’m in such a closet transition phase rn where I’ve been getting rid of lots of old clothes and experimenting with some new styles, loving a blend of edgy, sexy with natural fabrics.
Rae: My style is very classic with a twist. I love vintage shopping and styling something old in a new way.

What is it like being in a duo with your sister – your twin, no less? What is an advantage, and how do you separate being a sister and being a coworker depending on the situation?
We feel blessed even on our worst days because it’s always nice to have someone by your side. Like we’re day ones forreal. We definitely have our moments and we don’t agree on everything, but we’ve learned to appreciate our differences rather than comparing or compromising.
We were living separately and moved in together 3 yrs ago. That line between sis and coworker got really blurred especially once we started touring. We started getting to a point all our time together was work time. Honestly we’re still learning on that part, but will say this yr spending fun time together outside music has allowed for better balanced coworker energy naturally.
When it comes to working, it can be an advantage to have double hands on deck and 2 creative minds, especially when we are on the same page! For us what’s currently working is being open and honest with each other and then giving each other grace and space when wanted.
Your music is designed to make people get up and dance, and we definitely do! What is your creative process like? What does a typical day in the studio look like?
We both love that everyday is different even within our studio days. Some days we work together, some days we produce completely separately. Some days we’re starting a new original idea, while other days we got sent vocals by an artist looking for something fresh. It really helps us move in a creative state because nothing is ever too stagnant!
Even though you are pursuing music, you did not leave the fashion world behind! What is it like appearing in campaigns for such established brands?
Rae: A dream! When working in fashion, I didn’t necessarily picture myself on the other side of the screen originally! At my old job, I used to cast the models for the company’s shoots and loved getting to put the spotlight on others so it’s honestly a big shift to be on the other side now.
Cola: I love that life has taken us on this full circle journey! I loved acting in theater when I was young. I never took it too seriously but I remembered having the best times. I never connected that I could act in music videos and campaigns and for brands I love. And plus the styling, the makeup (always getting the best tips), the people I meet on set.
Community is an important part of your brand as artists. What has it been like participating in workshops and festivals across the United States? What have you taken away from these experiences?
Community has always been really important to us before we started touring. We feel so grateful traveling has introduced us to such amazing, community loving people and groups in so many cities who make these festivals and workshops possible! It’s also been so fun for us to explore local business, taste local cuisine and really immerse ourselves in each city while on the road. You’ll truly meet some of the best people and have really unique experiences!
And while we are here, are there any creatives, across any discipline, you would like to give a shout out to?
Love this! Yes! For music, some great artists to check are Artsychoke, Cliftun, RM47, Asophate, Techno Tupac, and Benni Ola.
We’ve gotten to work with some amazing photographers and videographers! Here are some of our favs: @visually.chris, @dbgraham, @https.santti, and @_johnverwey.
About Double Trouble

Congratulations on releasing the Double Trouble EP! How are you feeling now that it is out in the world?
Energized! It’s always been important for us to be fearless and true to ourselves. This EP is genre blending, risk taking, and bold. We are so proud and just excited to officially share it!
Are there any particular production details you are proud of in this EP?
We actually did the majority of the production for this EP on the road. We’ve performed in over 25 cities so far this year! It’s like this EP has a piece of each city, each show, and all the people in it!
As we approach the later end of 2025, is there anything you are excited for this year or want to manifest for 2026?
Yess so much this year we are excited for! We are teaching our first DJ workshop with Femme House focused on teaching femme, queer, and BIPOC creatives interested in DJing or wanting to further their skills. It’s been really exciting to extend our knowledge and create a welcoming environment for newcomers!
For 2026 and on, the dream definitely doesn’t stop here. We are so excited we’ll be joining a really cool tour with some exciting stops!! Not announced yet but omg we can’t wait!
And we can’t wait either! What are you playing on repeat from the Double Trouble EP? Let us know in the comments or over on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
