XG announced last week that they’d be changing the meaning behind their name from “Xtraordinary Girls” to “Xtraordinary Genes,” symbolizing a shift from their beginner phase into a more mature one, as all members have now entered their 20s and are ready to expand their artistic horizons and show us even more of their artistic identities moving forward.
Beyond that, we also got the news that the group is preparing their second world tour less than a year after the end of The First HOWL, which took them around 35 cities around the world. And it seems like the group is aiming even higher this time, with a tour that’ll make its way through Asia, North America, the UK & Europe, Australia, and Latin America! Check out the trailer for the tour below:
XG WORLD TOUR: THE CORE
Starting next month in their home country of Japan, XG WORLD TOUR: THE CORE promises to be even bigger than the last as it expands the list of places they’ll visit as a celebration of their first full-length album, THE CORE – 核, set to release on January 23.
THE CORE – 核 promises to double down on everything XG stands for, especially their belief that “good music has value on its own.” Both the new name and new album reflect XG‘s growth as artists, symbolizing how the group is stepping into the next phase of their career. And based on what we’ve seen from the group so far, something even bigger is coming and we can’t wait to see (and listen to) it.
