But we all know for sure that, no matter whether you are Gen Z, a millennial, or a boomer, and occasionally listen to her on Spotify, you are still affected by her new album releases. “Lanita,” as social media has dubbed her, is dropping a new album called Stove. Its release was announced early this year.
We at Honey Pop decided, while you wait for the new Lana Del Rey banger, to remind you why she deserves your attention once again. Or, if you’ve never heard of her, which is almost impossible, you should definitely give it a try.
So get your Spotify ready, and queue up these top five iconic Lana Del Rey tracks!
‘Young and Beautiful’
Not to mention that this track was specifically written for The Great Gatsby, and that it became one of the most commercially successful hits and one of Lana Del Rey’s most iconic tracks of her entire career. Its current YouTube streaming views stand at 759 million, tracked early this year, and this number is predicted to grow easily up to 800 million.
So why do we actually owe so much to this hit, apart from the fact that it was written for the film where DiCaprio was younger and more beautiful than now? Simply because, like many of Lana’s songs, it carries strong symbolism and deep meaning in its lyrics.
Against the backdrop of the endless loss and beauty of the film’s characters and their bohemian lives, Del Rey’s words question whether a man’s love will last when a woman’s attractiveness is no longer there. This gives both the audience and listeners an idea of what love actually is on a deeper level, beyond visible attractiveness and the surrounding life of vanity.
So if you’re in the mood for some love philosophy through music, this one is for you.
‘Video Games‘
We were not sure whether to put this one at the top of our Lana gems guide, as ‘Video Games’ was eventually the game-changer in her career that helped her break through. Yet the fact that we included it is already worth your attention.
Otherwise, how could we not? A vintage camera, Lana’s friends and family, and raw amateur home footage of her racing wildly on a Vespa bike with her bestie. Add Priscilla Presley’s iconic eye makeup over the big, sad yes, all telling a story of sacrificing for love.
This melancholic YouTube video is set against the backdrop of a dramatic orchestral ballad. The words about selfless, unskilled love hit harder than ever. For today’s millennials going through their own love dramas, it was a perfect match for the mood of that time. And even now, it still hasn’t lost its balance.
Released in 2011 as her debut single, ‘Video Games’ won the Ivor Novello Award for Best Contemporary Song in 2012 — an honor considered the most prestigious songwriting award in the UK. Now, ‘Video Games’ has surpassed 1 billion streams on Spotify, so don’t just sit there — check it out and see why this gem has so many fans on the platform.”
‘Born to Die‘
No matter how unoptimistic the title sounds, ‘Born to Die’ actually hits differently when you’ve gone through draining, life‑changing experiments. When your past feels like it’s dead, your new soul can be reborn.
Hollywood 50s curls, white silk, red Converse, and a white Mustang. Lana’s bad‑boy lover carries her out of the car after a crash, all set against her voice singing, hoping that “at the gates they will tell me you’re mine.” While you might say it’s just another one of her sad odes to troubled love, we would say that even if you’re right, it’s also about the path a person with strong feelings of love can go through, come what may.
Must say, the popularity of the whole Born to Die album is expressive even today. As of 2025, it has spent over 600 weeks on the US Billboard 200 chart. To be precise, it is one of the longest‑charting albums in the entire history of music.
And if this didn’t convince you to give it a chance, we’re putting its bright YouTube clip here for you.
‘Ultraviolence‘
Like her three previous hits, ‘Ultraviolence’ was written during a period when Lana was going through relations that were not working out very well. These experiences are reflected in her early art and became one of the most defining aspects of her musical style at this stage of her career.
‘Ultraviolence,’ with its dark theme, takes us on a journey with a woman who regrets a breakup yet realizes how active the relationship was. She reflects on how things might have been if something had changed, but the ultraviolence she went through haunts her, and the pain only grows deeper. Released in 2014, it directly references the supervisory 1962 track ‘He Hit Me (And It Felt Like a Kiss)’ by The Crystals. As Lana Del Rey later explained in her interviews, this reference was meant to convey what a destructive love relationship feels like.
On our Honey Pop side, we’ve decided that Ultraviolence could be a powerful awareness-raising song, showing that abuse is never about love.
So please, take your time to reflect on this kind of philosophy by adding it to your Lana Del Rey playlist. A bittersweet, pitifully delicate testing menu of Lana’s iconic tracks.
‘Say Yes to Heaven‘
And here we find peace with Lana’s nurturing ‘Say Yes to Heaven.’ For this, credit should be given to the fact that it was released during Lana’s healing era, a time when she no longer got caught up in toxic love, but instead embraced the eternal peace that real love can bring.
‘Say Yes to Heaven’ was released in 2023; however, it was originally written in 2013. Before that, it had leaked to social media, where it gained a huge fan base that eventually demanded Lana release it properly.
Light music with a summer romance vibe, playful and slightly flirty between two people, and a simple YouTube video showing just one photo of Lana praying gave a full stylistic perspective on her art. Previously known for tragedy, her work now reflected a healed woman, blooming in bespoke self-love and love for others. Thanks to its glitchy, in a good way, vocals and easy, not overwhelming music, ‘Say Yes to Heaven’ has surpassed 1 billion streams on Spotify.
And you could be the next to get caught by these cute and light lyrics, just make sure you stream it too!
