We’re checking our list of artists to look out for, and we’re seeing that it’s dominated by women. Between alt-pop and rock, there’s no shortage of powerful female vocalists. And we can’t get enough of it. In the coming months, we foresee plenty of banging our heads to new albums, closing our eyes and losing ourselves to new albums, etc. If you’d like to come along on this new album journey with us, keep reading! We’re giving you some of our most anticipated albums, so be sure to grab your calendar so you don’t miss a thing.
Charlotte Sands- Satellite (March 6)
We’ve been eagerly watching Charlotte Sands’ journey from pop-punk in her EP Love and Other Lies to heavier rock in her debut album, can we start over? Catching eyes everywhere with her signature blue hair and bold style, her personality seeps from every project she releases. And Satellite is no exception. In fact, with every project, she seems to understand herself better. As she explores themes of identity, discovery, and self-worth, she masters her modern alt-pop sound. Already released tracks like ‘neckdeep’ cement Satellite as perhaps her most ambitious project yet. Featuring heavy riffs paired with dreamy hyperpop elements, we can only assume that Satellite will elevate everything Charlotte has already done so well in her previous work.

Holly Humberstone- Cruel World (April 10)
Indie-pop with a dark edge, and it’s only getting darker. Holly Humberstone sets out to release her sophomore album, Cruel World, and what we’ve seen so far has been like a haunted fairytale. She’s hinted at the enchanting darkness that she’s honing in on before. With themes like a haunted childhood home and whimsical melodies riddling her past projects, we’re certainly in for a treat.
After her debut EP, Falling Asleep At The Wheel, turned heads in her direction, her debut album, Paint My Bedroom Black, made sure people kept watching. Since then, we’ve been anxiously waiting to see how she follows it up. And clearly, we’re still excited. Her honesty is what made her previous projects so successful. And if her most recent single ‘To Love Somebody’ is any indication of what’s to come, it’s shaping up to be her most honest record yet. So far, she’s explored the reality of happiness and declared that to get the light, you must deal with the dark.
“In ‘To Love Somebody’ I wanted to capture that contradiction: to love somebody, is to hurt somebody and to lose somebody, well at least you got to love somebody. In order to feel extreme happiness, you have to know extreme sadness. That’s the tension of the record,”
Holly Humberstone

LØLØ – god forbid a girl spits out her feelings (April 17)
Embracing the messiness of life is pop-rock star LØLØ. In her upcoming record god forbid a girl spits out her feelings, she is leaving nothing unsaid. Most recently, she unleashed her single ‘007’. Between this and the previously released ‘me with no shirt on,’ she proves herself to be unafraid in this record. She is unapologetically spilling her every thought. The result is a page ripped out of a diary and set to a gritty beat, and maybe stomped on with a pair of combat boots. The rest of the album is out April 17, and we simply can’t wait!
