Get your grooviest dancing shoes on because Bruno Mars just dropped a new album.
The Romantic is finally here. It’s been many, many years since Bruno Mars released a new album, and fans have been patiently waiting for whatever he decided to do next. The “next” in question was Latin-inspired album, The Romantic, released February 27th. After our first listen, we were hitting the ‘Cha Cha Cha’ and hitting that replay button all at the same time. What did we really think about Bruno Mars’ new album?

It’s Got Flair
Yes, Bruno Mars has a signature sound that tends to flow throughout all of his albums. He knows how to make a hit without having to do much, as evident of his most successful tracks like ‘Treasure,’ ‘Grenade,’ and ‘Die With A Smile.’ Pretty much anything he puts out performs well among all music listeners. The Romantic, however, gives us a new flair that we weren’t expecting. After a few listens all the way through, we can confirm that this new sound is exactly what we needed.
Bruno Gets Romantic
These nine new songs are defintely romantic, to say the least, and the album’s title is suited perfectly to what we hear. They’re filled with lovely lyrics like “Say you want the moon / Watch me learn to fly / Ain’t no mountain you could point to / I wouldn’t climb” on the album’s opener, ‘Risk It All.’ Each song is a love letter in its own right, and each song takes the listener on a different journey of what it means to fall in love, fall out of love, or maybe a bit of both. It’s clear Bruno Mars knows how to write a love song, and some of his best ballads just might be on The Romantic.
Does He ‘Risk It All?’
No, not really. Bruno isn’t really known for taking risks in his music. He stays in his own lane, and he does it well. However, we’d love to see him step outside the box more often. The Romantic introduced a certain Latin flair that was a nice touch alongside the more heartfelt lyrics, which is undoubtedly a new sound for Bruno Mars. But was it a big enough risk to make the entire project stand out amongst all the other major 2026 album releases? That would be up to the listener to decide. For now, we’ll keep our ‘Cha Cha Cha’ shoes on and get ready to hear these new songs live on tour (yes, we have floor tickets, do you!?).
