You know when fans say that their fave artist’s music makes them ascend? Well, ZEROSE is the only fandom who can truly say that, and mean it! We’re still living in ZEROBASEONE’s Ascend- era, and we’re not coming down any time soon.
From the chic title track, ‘TOP 5,’ to the underrated finale, ‘Zero To Hundred,’ to everyone’s favorite ‘Exotic,’ we’re still playing this album non-stop! Not to mention the coupling track, ‘V for Vision,’ we’re pretty sure the only person in the world who loves this song more than we do is Matthew.
Following its initial Korea and digital release on May 18th, Ascend- sold over 500K copies in the first week, which pushed ZEROBASEONE to over 10 million total album sales! June 26th marked the official U.S. physical release date, so ZEROSE, go grab your copies!
‘Customize’ At KCON JAPAN
Now, we obviously have to start with the ZEROBASEONE performance that launched the Ascend- era, right? At KCON Japan, ZB1 gave us a sneak peek of what to expect from the upcoming album. Written and composed by the one and only Park Gunwook, this is one of our fave K-pop b-sides this year. Y’all, imagine seeing this live on tour… pretty please.
‘TOP 5’ Encore On MCountdown
No more fun, it’s time for tears! We’re joking, but we’re also not. ZEROBASEONE’s win on MCountdown was super emotional for many reasons: it’s Gunwook’s current MC role, Hanbin’s former MC role, ‘TOP 5’s’ first in-person win, and they were joined on stage by AND2BLE, aka the group which includes all of ZB1’s former members. This broke and healed ZEROSE’s hearts all over again.
‘V For Vision’ On INKIGAYO
There’s no denying that the Ascend- era had some of ZEROBASEONE’s best styling to date. Case in point: this ‘V for Vision’ performance. Contrasting with the sharp-suited looks we saw for ‘TOP 5’ (more on that later), tracksuit fits for the laidback, nonchalant ‘V for Vision’ was the perfect choice. Plus, we particularly love this INKIGAYO stage because it was 100% live, no pre-recording! Not to mention the fact that this song has the greatest fan chant of all time!
‘TOP 5’ On Show! MusicCore
We warned you: we’re here to talk about the ‘TOP 5’ aesthetic. ZB1 were consistently suave and sophisticated, but this Show! MusicCore stage took that to a whole other level. Hanbin and Jiwoong in those gloves were all we saw on our FYP for days. This performance really shows off ZEROBASEONE’s prowess when it comes to live vocals, too.
‘TOP 5’ On STUDIO CHOOM
Last, but not least, we’re finishing off our top 5 with, well, ‘TOP 5!’ ZB1’s STUDIO CHOOMs always hit and this one is no exception. One of our favorite things about ‘TOP 5’ is that all five members share the chorus, so naturally they all get a lot of center time as well. This performance shows how much they’ve all grown as dancers, too. Taerae, we’re looking at you, king.
