If you ever thought James Arthur would go full pop-punk, then you’re in the right place! We were elated to see that James Arthur was back in business with his newest track ‘Bitter Sweet.’ Our love for him is certainly bittersweet, but definitely more sweet 🍬and definitely not at all bitter.
Throughout the song, James plays with the wording of “bitter sweet love,” yearning through lyrics for “a bit of sweet love.”
“I need just a bit of sweet love/Not your bittersweet love/I need just a bit of sweet love/Not your bittersweet love.”
We are totally obsessed with this new sound from James! We can’t place it into just one genre, and James would agree with us. It’s giving pop, punk, rock, and R&B 🎶
We also love the meaning behind this song. I think we can all relate to falling in love with someone who may not be the best for us. We’d do anything for them, but they continue to manipulate your thoughts and actions. We are so thankful that James brings the raw and vulnerable lyrics to our ears. “So deep/It’s in my veins, I feel the pain/So, please/Don’t play those games, don’t play with me,” James sings.
We’re counting down the days to James Arthur’s new album, Bitter Sweet Love, out on Jan. 26th! The best way to head into February is with 13 new tracks from James!🤩
