Mumford & Sons Talk About Creating With Pharrell.
Pharrell collaborating with Mumford & Sons, how did it happen you ask? They were so kind to answer that question while chatting on The Zane Lowe Show.
We came to Paris and “Good People” came out the first day together in Paris and it just straight away felt like the kind of record we need. And going into it, we spoke on the phone just before, I was like, man, I feel a bit blocked. I haven’t written a song in a couple months and he just was like, he’s got no time for that as you know, no time whatsoever. So we wrote it together, recorded it in a day, and then, I mean, we were still mixing three o’clock last night, but that’s another story. But here we are.

Mumford & Sons Chat About Creating A Track That Feels Hopeful
We were filled with many emotions upon the release of their first track since 2019, but we feel hopeful for the future of their music! Mumford & Sons speak about why they wanted to create a hopeful track.
Yeah, I think there’ve been times over the last little while where it’s felt like hope’s been at a deficit. And I think we’ve always felt, like, I’m a Beyonce believer. She always thinks that you should finish a song with some sense of hope. And I think we’ve always made music that at least has a hopeful intention to it. And Pharrell and I talked about this lyrically before we went in. We both grew up in church. We believe in congregational energy and we both, I think we all have this desire right now to feel connected and it’s a longing in all of us.
