If you’re anything like us, this will become your new favourite section of the site, because let’s be honest, who doesn’t like being the first one to know all about the next big sensation?
Like most of us last year, the New Jersey native lived in an air of uncertainty trying to figure things out amidst the pandemic. understand what was happening around him. And while introspecting, he figured out where his heart is; in crafting music that’s not only an outlet to his mind but speaks to the rest of the world around him.
To kick off 2021, Jack Newsome released the impactful anthem titled ‘The Year The World Stood Still,’ a song about the realization that sometimes hitting pause is important. And well, it spoke to us and the rest of the world. But much more than a song of the moment, the single carries into the concept of what happens even after this all over and the world goes back to the normal (or new normal.)
“Whatever I do, I want it to be embraced by a lot of different people. I’m excited for what comes next.”Jakc Newsome about making music via official website

Tell Us a Little About Yourself!
I am an artist from New Jersey, I grew up doing theatre and dance, and I’ve been writing songs since I was 10. I started producing music when I was, maybe, 13 and a few years ago, I was on NBC’s Songland as a songwriter for Kelsea Ballerini.
Who are your main musical influences?
I am very influenced by Prince, Bruce Springsteen, Justin Timberlake, Billy Idol, and Lady Gaga.
If you could make a song with any other artist, who would you pick and why?
I would write a song with David Bowie. I think he was way ahead of his time, and I love music that references space so much.
Are you heading out on tour soon?
Hopefully! (After the pandemic, when things go back to normal.)
What food would we be horrified to learn you like?
I actually love octopus. I think it tastes amazing.
If you could live in any era for music for the rest of your life, which would it be and why?
I would live during the disco era in the 1970’s. There was an explosion of dance music which has totally shaped music today. I wish I could have witnessed it in real time.
Is there an instrument you don’t play but wish you could?
I wish I could play guitar so bad. I will need to learn at some point. Maybe when I start touring I will take the time to learn.
What do you call your fans?
We are picking the fandom name now, my fans are either going to be called Dimples or Snacks (mhmm.. sounds delicious.)
